The cartoon characters Tom and Jerry, were named after the drink. The drink has been around since the early 1800s and it seems to be eggnog with rum and brandy to add to the Christmas festivities.There is even a punch bowl with little mugs that was popular in the 1940’s with the drink Tom and Jerry decorating it, not the cat and mouse. Now that’s a lot of happy, a punchbowl of booze.😀

Besides this cracking me up, it was good to see this recipe getting some love. Best T&J I've ever had was at Schwabl's in Buffalo NY.

Just for the hell of it last Xmas i threw the whole eggs, spices, sugar, rum, and a pinch of cream of tarter and salt into a mason jar and shook the snot out of it. About 5 minutes of shaking and it was foamy. Not as much as if id done the yolks and white separately but it was fine. Tasted just fine. I still prefer it whipped though. Textures better.

I was half expecting him to just pour the three fingers of brandy and say "aw the heck with this" and just drink the brandy straight xD. Good stuff Charlie.
