I've been interested in this belt tensioner for a couple of months now as a way to add immersion without going full motion. I just placed my order after watching this video.
Mate 100% they are worth it. Video was a little rushed but seems to be assisting people in making the decision. I thought it was a gimic but glad I grabbed it as sooo much fun. Feel free to mention my name to Clutch Kick Sydney if that’s where you purchased it for a discount.
@@primalinvest7477thanks man. I ordered from a distributor in Florida because I’m in the states. Are you using a five or a four point harnesses? My instinct tells me to get a five point because of how it will pull the belt back more than up (at least it seems that way to me). Edit: I rewatched the video and you said you have a 5 point. 👍
@@dauntae24 mate I’m using a 4 point with a 3” belt. The point is more than enough as soon as the shoulder belts tension, it’s against the waist belts. Enjoy mate, they’re so much fun!
Hi, I'm not interested in a complete motion system. But the belt tensioner really appeals to me. I saw your previous answer and a priori having just the tensioner would already be very good. Another question please: I have a tubular cockpit (GT Omega Titan), do you think the bts1 can be adapted to it or do I need a profiled rig ?
As far as I’m aware, it is designed for an aluminium profile rig however I can’t see it being an issue. You would need to modify your frame to accomodate it plus a 4 point race harness provided you already have a race bucket seat. As for your previous comment that you’re not interested in motion. Have you ever tried it as that’s a fairly bold statement to just say you’re not interested in motion platforms. They make a massive difference to the immersion and without it and the belt tensioner, I get nowhere near the enjoyment without it.
@@primalinvest7477 Thanks for your reply, Yes, I've had the chance to try out a motion system on several times. I like it but nothing more. It's probably surprising for you but it's not really a priority for me, especially after playing it for several hours. I'm going to do the VR first, and then I was just thinking about the tensioner.
No worries mate. I will try whip something up quickly over the coming days. My biggest gripe out of the box was the gear shifting. You would shift gears whilst accelerating and then about half a second later it jerks the belts at full tilt. I’ve adjusted that to be a lot more subtle and it’s definitely that piece of sim racing gear that was missing. Will it make you faster, probably not. Will it create a massive smile across your face … hell yeah it will.
I'm confused, is this JUST the belt tensioner, or is there some sort of motion you have setup? Your whole rig is moving, not just your seat. Is that part of the belt?
I will do a setup video over the coming weeks of my actual setup. You are correct but! I’m running the Qubic Motion QS210 Actuators which each have 60mm of travel and can simulate approx 1.5G and also the belt tensioner which has only just been released.
Hi mate, the button box is a SimPush one off AliExpress. It was about $180AuD if that helps. Have not had any dramas with anything from SimPush. Check out clutch kick in Sydney. They have some pretty tech ones as well.
100% !!! The belt tensioner I feel adds more to the immersion than the 3DOF which really surprised me. I think they all have a purpose. The BT1 adds by simulating g forces under braking, accelerating, gear shifts and negative g when the belts loosen right off when going through the dipper at Bathurst. The 3DOF gives a sense of movement under the car and brings the detail of the track through the rig whilst the Simagic direct drive is great for feeling slips, slides and road texture as well.
You can’t go wrong mate! Hit up Sam & Emma from Clutch Kick Sydney and mention myself for 5% off. Every little bit counts! As for motion mate, I was so hesitant between the 210 and 220 but glad I went the 210. If you love flight sims and off road racing then the 220 but if solely race gt3 etc then the 210 is more than enough.
Yes. Through the Qubic motion software you’re able to adjust the Seatbelt tensioner independently of the motion regardless of how you have it linked together.
@@hyprspec to some degree sure there is going to be a tiny delay. The telemetry data is sent from game straight to the motion and seatbelt tensioner and then back to the wireless wheel. But in complete honesty, it’s barely noticeable and not even enough to warrant stating a delay imo.
@@primalinvest7477 thanks ! I completely understand what you mean. The numbers will show us there is "delay" but in use, that delay is so small it is practically unnoticeable. I think you're the first one in getting these videos out into the world. It is so nice to finally get actual feedback about this unit. It seems as though user experience thus far has been impossible to come by.
@@hyprspecQubic products are just one step ahead. There is no comparison between them and other systems on the market. It’s quiet, really responsive and highly adjustable. I will try upload a video in the coming days of the settings
I was going to ask how noisy is it but your whole rig seems noisy ha, spescially your shifter. Hard to hear any actual noise from the tensioner. A video with the game sound down and the motion off would give a better idea of noise. Looks great though
Hey mate. Happy to upload a video without any game sound in the near future. I will have to agree, all the sequential shifters are loud! However, you would be happy to know that the Qubic motion is nearly silent and the belt tensioner also does not make a sound. Qubic motion is commercial grade quality and it definitely excels with the products they make. I’ve tested many and this was the most quiet but also the most responsive. Hope that helps.
John, your wish is my command. New video uploaded and will become available at 1500 AEST. It is a hot lap around Bathurst, I went paddle shifters to keep noise down and used the DJI Pocket 3 with DJI Mic 2 to record. As you will be able to tell from the footage, Qubic products are very quiet. Hope that helps with your enquiry and request.
