This performance really brings this song to life, the energy is high, John is thumping that bass, Brian is shredding his guitar and Roger is unstoppable. Freddie really brings it and uses his voice in powerful and haunting ways. Loved your reaction and how much you were smiling.
Love this performance. It’s far better than the video which was over produced as most 80’s videos were. All you need is Freddie’s voice and the rest of Queen on stage to make a kind of Magic. 😊thanks.
Great reaction! Honestly, this live version is better then the studio version of It's A Kind Of Magic, the song was written for the Highlander movie by Roger Taylor. Speaking of the Highlander movie, have you heard, Princes Of The Universe and Gimme The Prize, from the movie? These are some really kickass songs from the the soundtrack, you will really like these hard rocking Queen songs, unfortunately Queen never did it live. Another great song and performance from this same Wembley show is, Now I Am Here - Queen live at Wembley 1986, Tie Your Mother Down and One Vision from this show is also great.
This is my favorite live version of this song. The whole Friday Night Wembley concert awesome. So is Saturday but I think, for the most part, I like Friday. Thank you so much for your reaction. I really love your Queen reactions. 💜💜💜💙💙😊🌞
Excellent reaction! Love watching your face light up and the giggles as Freddie dances around the stage. This must be the Friday performance. I think they have much better camera angles for Freddie on the Saturday performance but I love the music for both. Thanks for the reaction!
It's a kind of magic It's a kind of magic A kind of magic (No way) One dream, one soul One prize, one goal One golden glance of what should be It's a kind of magic One shaft of light that shows the way No mortal man can win this day It's a kind of magic The bell that rings inside your mind Is challenging the doors of time It's a kind of magic The waiting seems eternity The day will dawn of sanity (Ooh ooh ooh ooh) Is this a kind of magic? It's a kind of magic There can be only one This rage that lasts a thousand years Will soon be done This flame that burns inside of me I'm hearing secret harmonies It's a kind of magic The bell that rings inside your mind Is challenging the doors of time It's a kind of magic It's a kind of magic This rage that lasts a thousand years Will soon be, will soon be, will soon be done This is (this is) a kind (a kind) of magic (yeah) There can be only one (one, one, one) This rage that lasts a thousand years Will soon be done (done) Magic (it's a kind of magic) It's a kind of magic Magic magic magic (magic) (Magic) Aa ha ha haa, it's magic (Magic) It's a kind of magic
Queen wrote the entire soundtrack for the movie Highlander. It starred Sean Connery and Christopher Lambert. It’s about immortal men who have to fight down the ages until only one is left, and has achieved something of a cult status. Who Wants to Live Forever, my favourite song from the movie, at this Wembley concert is freaking amazing.
I love the live version of this song! It’s one of a handful of songs that Queen wrote for the Highlander movie starring Sean Connery, Christopher Lambert, & Clancy Brown. I think you’ll love GIMME THE PRIZE (written by Brian) & PRINCES OF THE UNIVERSE (written by Freddie). I love the guitar solos in both songs!! When you listen to Queen, listen to all these great bass riffs. John Deacon asked me one of the greatest bass players to ever exist so underrated, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard a mistake come out of it.
"A Kind of Magic" was written by Roger Taylor as part of the score that Queen wrote for the movie "The Highlander". In case you are unfamiliar with the movie starring Christopher Lamber and Sean Connery here is a synopsis: A warrior from a 16th-century Scottish clan is one of several 'immortals' scattered across the globe and doomed to battle each other to the death for a mysterious prize.
Freddy Mercury loved: Hendrix- he followed his concerts as a fan in his tender age, he even dressed as Hendrix in 70s, he wanted to be Aretha Franklin ; ) as Brain said- loved her singing that much, he loved opera and of course Beatles. He said that the day when he can not sing he will die.
John Deacon the brilliant bassist was only 23 when he played in the “Liar” video in 1974...Are you a fan of Rory Gallagher?🤩......the line was “hearing secret harmonies”
Most of the songs off the album are for the highlander film. This is Rogers his version used at the end credits Freddies re arrangement was used on the album and single This is two minutes longer than the album version
Lots of folks like the heavy hitting songs from Highlander (of those, I am partial to Who Wants to Live Forever (Live, Budapest). But the ballad gem, One Year of Love (Lyric video only) features only John & Freddie. It doesn't have a Queen sound but oh those vocals soar. Have not seen the film, but understand that song plays on the radio in the background. It sounds like private thoughts you shouldn't overhear, sung.
Not moving around as much in this but the fans would have no clue how much he was struggling At the end of this tour ge saud he was fking done with touring he was in so much pain Mary said he realised something was very wrong it was beyong normal muscle aches and fatigue April the following year he found out ge gad aids and sarcoma skin cancer
I prefer the version of the second night Wembley 1986, more energy and better voice. And you have to try Keep yourself alive Montreal 1981 : another fantastic jam session
@@Roryreacts maybe you Know that the first night was very rainy. Freddie had a lot of fun with the audience but his vocals and the band were better the second night. Don't stop Queen réactions I like the way you became fond of them. Last recommandation, sorry I can't stop, try Big Spender Live Hammersmith 1975 and wembley 1986 12 july. I promise you will smile
Thanks, Rory - I am writing this before I even watch your reaction... b/c when I was a kid and bought the album, I thought this song was kind of "meh" -- until I saw it LIVE.. so I kind of expect you to have a similar reaction... or if not... lol
Terrific entertainment . . . Freddie, Deaky, Roger, Brian -- then your observations. Again I totally know this video so appreciate you pondering for 'real' meaning. Queen is too special for that, thanks to Freddie Mercury. I know what it means to me.
Only some of the songs were group works most were composed by one of them. Excercises in free love was for Freddies one off solo cover not Queen. B side of great pretender.
@@Roryreacts Sorry Great pretender was the cover EIFL was Freddies improve on the B side pretending to be a soprano! I couldnt find your video for EIFL Or did you mean reacted to GP
