Actually Deaky got the inspiration for this song from cowboys movies :) Deaky is John Deacon's nickname, the bass player. This song was the biggest hit Queen had, and it was released as a single thanks to Michael Jackson, who insisted and insisted they had to release it. Roger has learned to appreciate the song with time, but he HATED it when Deaky composed it, LOL!

There is no "best" of any group or singer because it all depends on your taste and where you're coming from. The different technologies available at the time of each band made big differences too. Even within Queen the four had different tastes, Freddie - classical, rock, opera, gospel.... Brian - Hendrix, folk, The Beatles....Deacon - soul, funk, blues and progressive rock like " Yes"....Taylor - Mitch Mitchell, Hendrix and heavier rock. That's what made their music so varied. You’re right. They didn’t break up but stopped touring after ‘86 I think. He still kept contributing to the song writing though. The middle part of Innuendo is a great example of his writing. As a testament to Freddie, the members stopped specifying what members wrote what songs. They decided to just credit all songs to the whole band. Freddie contributed but not as much as he used to because he was so sick. RIP Freddie...absolute best!

@@AriaIsara I'm certain that Freddie "knew" he had HIV, even though, like you say, he wasn't tested until 1987. By the mid-80s, Freddie's former lovers from the 1970s were starting to die of AIDS. And around 1985, a Lady Friend of Freddie's described an incident at his house: He cut himself shaving - so there was a little bit of blood, you know - and she came in the bathroom to help... She said he totally PANICKED/ordered her out of the bathroom. (Because at that time, they didn't know exactly how the HIV virus was transferred)

John Deacon is the official writer of this song, the bands bass player. Brian and Roger weren't really into it at first bc they didnt love the whole disco funk sound, but Freddie poored his heart and all of his energy into singing this. And he is a main reason why this song was so popular, not only is a kick ass bass line, but the vocals are ear shattering, especially on record, he also is singing a lot higher than one might think bc it sounds so masculine. Also, they originally weren't going to release this song as a single, but they played it live a little and Michael Jackson was actually in the audience and he was able to go backstage and they hung out and MJ told them that they should release it as a single, it's really good, so they did, and it ended up being one of the biggest songs of all time.

John Deacon originally wrote this about a western showdown (hence "Another One Bites The Dust") but at suggestion he tweaked it to be more "modern" but it's still essentially about gun warfare. As for some of the bands biggest hits and the principal songwriter: Another Bites The Dust/Under Pressure/I want to Break Free/You're My Best Friend - John Deacon (bass) Don't Stop Me Now/Killer Queen/Bohemian Rhapsody/Somebody To Love/Bicycle Race/We Are The Champions/Crazy Little Thing Called Love - Freddie Mercury (vocals/piano) Radio Gaga/A Kind of Magic - Roger Taylor (Drums/vocals) Now I'm Here/We Will Rock You/Fat Bottomed Girls/Who Wants To Live Forever - Brian May (guitar/vocals) This list is far from exhaustive. I just tried to include their most iconic tracks. Later in their career tracks started becoming much more of a joint effort and were credited to the entire band.

To be a frontman, you must be fearless. And Freddie left any fears off the side of the stage. This song was written by the bass player as he watched Freddie Mercury wake up and get rid of all of the fake friends that had gathered around him. When Freddie stopped doing drugs and shed all of the fake friends, he was nearly ruthless about it. Left some on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere while he dropped some in the middle of traffic. He had a "handler" from CBS who borded a flight they were both supposed to be on, Freddy snuck off and waved at him as the plane pulled away.

"Another One Bites the Dust" was written by Queen's bassist, John Deacon, around 1980 and was influenced by his time hanging out with disco group, Chic. Interesting tidbit about this tune, it might not have never been released if not for Michael Jackson talking the band into including it on the band's 1980 studio LP, "The Game." This song along with "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" were huge hits for Queen, both reaching No. 1 in the US. This live version is from Queen's '86 performance at Wembley, and there were several rumors surrounding the band, one of which, that they were on the verge of breaking up, most likely put out there by the British tabloids. Freddie Mercury and Queen had a very tumultuous relationship with the British tabloids, especially around this time until Mercury's death.

That brooch looks very middle eastern Sori. This video clip of Queen just proves how much control an artist has over the audience.

I've been watching your react videos lately and I can't for the life of me imagine you guys NEVER heard of these classic hit songs from the most popular bands of all time. You gotta make a video explaining this because we're so inundated with pop culture everywhere, I find it hard to believe you guys missed all this, especially in the age of radio, TV, tabloids, news, gossip and of course the internet. So, please explain. Love your react videos btw! :)

sub rate per week seems to be slowing down to me. it was like 10k a month when they started, (now maybe 1k a week) and that was from doing mostly metal music and lesser known metal music reactions (not everyones cup of tea). i dont think they havent heard certain songs before, but they seemed like they were avoiding the popular song reaction route because that would be cheesy. now we've had grunge week and more popular songs etc since the subs have been in the 80k range. popular things equals more eyeballs on their stuff, hence more subs who want to see it all, and not just the pop stuff. long story short i think its just a business move on their part.

You need to check out other Queen songs. They recorded songs until 2 months before Freddie died. His last song was Mother Love. Brian May had to finish the song because Freddie was too sick to finish. Brian finished the last verse 3 years after his death.

You were talking about diss records with Neil Young and Lynyrd Skynyrd, you should react to "Death on Two Legs. Dedicated To...". Written by Freddie, to their former manager. Definitely get a video with the in studio and one with words

Loved your reaction, it was so funny when VIn covered Sori's eyes! Also amusing was Sori's comment "he is such a unique person in his expressions of himself", with her eyes sparkling. We totally understand what she means: HE WAS SEXY!!!

This song was a huge influence for Micheal Jackson off the bad album. He was interviewed and said that Freddie's voice and the band Queen truly motivated and inspired him to write the bad album.

Freddie didn't right the song it was their bassist John Deacon and basically the song is about someone "falling out of the game", Freddie and queen recorded until very shortly before his death one of the most haunting songs I've ever heard is "Who Wants to Live Forever" and a song called "To Much Love will Kill You" which felt like Freddie's confession.
@richmayes8451
@richmayes8451 5 лет назад
Too much love will kill you was actually written by guitarist, Brian May, with Freddie singing main vocals, but it never made the cut for 'The Miracle' album in 1989. Brian released it in 1992 on his solo album 'Back to the Light' after performing it at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert. Freddie's version did eventually get released on the 1995 'Made in Heaven' album. The song actually reflected the breakdown of Brian's first marriage and attraction to his future wife, Anita Dobson.

You heard of him because he was the lead singer of one of the best groups that ever existed in the past century. I mean top three. He is also in the top three of all time vocalists.
