Thank you for this wonderful compilation and highlighting this region. I don’t think many people realize how much music history from this era there is in southwest Ohio, outside of Bix Beiderbecke and the Wolverines. I’m from just north of Cincinnati, and my great-uncle, Lin Mendenhall (alto sax), had a dance band (Lin’s Serenaders) between the mid-1920’s and throughout the 1930’s and featured my grandfather, Earl Mendenhall, on cornet (he studied with Frank Simon). They never recorded (that I know of) but it’s nice to hear music they likely played from bands that they most likely were familiar with or perhaps knew. 😊
