crowd interaction is key for the group, always inclusive for everyone and one of the few groups even from the early days who'd invite the fans too take part in music videos, and every move Freddie makes signals to the other three if he wants to go longer, shorten, everything is done between them by eye, you'll see that they speak with each other during something going on with it song, always speaking and following what Freddie is doing out front
John Deacon's bass line=heaven. It seems, according to some, that Brian May got lost and had to go over to John to get back on track of where he was supposed to be, look around 4:30 you'll catch Deacon doing a visual clue for May about beat.. In the Milton Keynes performance of this song, Brian had a string break on his guitar and had to switch out while John kept the beat.
Love your reactions! Please check out “Save Me” Live in Montreal. And “In My Defence” by Freddie. It’s a solo, but it’s awesome!! Keep up the great reactions! Can never go wrong with Queen live!!
A bit frustrated, Freddie says, "Come on, listen to the beat!" (only AFTER that, does John & Roger come in to provide 'said' beat). And what a great beat it is too! Slides right into "Dragon Attack".
Some background ... this was a 2 night show (not part of a tour) specific to make a concert music video) the film crew made the audience stay seated and quiet threatening removal. That annoyed the band as they didn't know why the crowd wasn't acting normal. And on day 2 the film crew told the band to do EVERYTHING the SAME (polar opposite of Freddie's philosophy on what a concert is) so during the encore he changed into his white short shorts specifically to screw with the film's continuity (or so I read). Basically what we're witnessing is the band playing pissed/angry and still performing spectacularly.
This song was written by Brian May!! It’s speculated that the “dragon on my back” is Brian’s fire-breathing Red Special (name of his guitar that he & his father built from scratch). 🐉🔥 Anyway, love this sassy sexy song!! This is one of John’s favorite songs to play! The song Now I’m Here book ends this shortened live version medley! Give the studio version a listen, too! 🔥
