The death of Queen Elizabeth II has shocked the Royal Family and families around the world. Let's take a look at Her Majesty's story in Netflix's 'The Crown.'
I'm an American, but still feel like I lost a family member. She was Queen before I was born -- she was a constant in our life of change. She will be missed.
As an American I feel sadness for the people of England in a way I would imagine they felt sadness for us when we lost JFK. But at the same time I feel grief as a person because Queen Elizabeth was just a constant figure in the World. She didn't come and go like other heads of State, she was always there. So I feel like the World lost its Grandmother.
As a youth, I watched her Coronation and have followed her with the utmost respect. She has been a constant for her people and indeed the world. 👑 👸. To 🇬🇧 from🇺🇸 with love, respect, condolences, and prayers 🙏. Her reign will never be forgotten! RIP Elizabeth II. 🕊 🕊 🕊
I am from Russia, but the last days have been difficult for me. Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth II, you have been an inspiration to people all over the world😔 A beautiful tribute ✨
I said this very thing to my Niece when her Father/my Brother in Law passed away. No one you love is ever dead, as they live on in our hearts. It’s a very real truth that has given me great solace after my own Father’s passing in 2018. As it has this past week. Hard to believe it’s been a week, isn’t it? It feels longer somehow.
Beautiful tribute. I'm an American, so while she wasn't my queen, I always had such respect for Queen Elizabeth II. Her strength, her honor, her love and devotion to her Country will always be inspiring. God Bless Queen Elizabeth II.
As a Canadian, and one of Her Majesty’s loyal subjects, I am saddened by this end of an era. As a schoolchild, Her Majesty and Prince Phillip’s pictures bookended the alphabet over the blackboard in the front of the class. We sang God Save The Queen as our national anthem and the Canadian flag was the Union Jack in the upper left corner on a bright red background. Her majesty has a constant and stable touchstone all my life. Though a monarchy is the antithesis to my progressive left politics, I loved and admired The Queen, she will be greatly missed and it won’t be the same without her.
Thank you Your Majesty for your selflessness and for your incomparable service to your country. Job well done Your Majesty. May you rest in peace with your forever Prince - Prince Philip.
Beautiful tribute. Long live Queen Elizabeth in the hearts of her people. Hopefully, Your Majesty, we will all meet again in Heaven. What a wonderful, awe-inspiring woman. Kind regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷.
A fortitude, dignified, humble and smart woman one of a kind unique person, even though I’m not British I have respect, loved and adoration for Queen Elizabeth, her reign was that of dignity, fairness, integrity and intelligence.
I just rewatched season 3's first episode titled Olding and it felt so different. It's strange to think she is now part of history. The Crown is now the only way we will get to "see the queen"
While chaos reigned in America at the height of COVID, QEII summoned the resolve of true leadership she first tapped into and learned from her parents during the darkest days of WW II. Godspeed the Queen, and God Save the King!
Only realizing now what a part of my life she was. I did a semester in London, 1985, magical? Yes. Truly it felt like I was in the kingdom. We lined the mall being it was the opening of parliament during that time. She rode by in her carriage, waiving as she went by. Funny thing is, EVERYONE in my dorm came back and said "She waived at me!" LOL....right. She's been a presence, one that was always there and hitting now she's actually gone. That London that I so loved and knew, perhaps a part of it went with her. There will never be another Queen Elizabeth. My she rest in peace.
The kings should aim at having a daughter as heir. There is something about having a queen. And the history showed that UK is better with a queen as sovereign
I've started watching The Crown at Netflix way before the Queen died. By watching the series, I finally understand why the Queen stands out from other monarchs and why she is the most loved. I am a Filipino but I feel like if ever the Philippines had a queen, I would have wanted Queen Elizabeth to be our queen. God speed, Queen Elizabeth II. A life well lived. Well done.
I'm not old enough to have many vivid memories of the Queen. But I am stunned that she was always there during the darkest moments. She was one of the greatest defender of the free world from Nazi invasion. May she rest in peace with her beloved Prince.
Cmon... now that is just rubbish. She did nothing of the sort. You should probably read a history book or two on her. Just for starters: 1) She became queen after the war. 2) She was at the helm of the British empire which was incredibly brutal and cruel across the globe--very far from the "free world" that you are describing. You can like (and mourn) the old lady if you want; but giving her undeserved sainthood is kind of lame.
How very fitting. An excellent video montage collection. I recall when John Lithgow/Winston Churchill, in his address to the nation, had said (paraphrasing) the thrill (of a child born in the Victorian age) of invoking once more the prayer and the anthem, "God Save The Queen". Farewell Your Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth II. You were my second mother. Through you, i could still believe my own mother (passed in 2017) still lived. Now that you are gone, i must go on until we all see each other again in heaven.
Her loss is so deeply felt. I was lucky to live in the UK for 3 years and visit many of her castles,Buckingham Palace, etc. When I was living in Scotland I met her briefly, and it’s a moment I will never forget. Even as a child of 12 I remember waving to her when she visited Australia. She was stoic, brave….lived her whole life by her motto of “don’t complain, don’t explain “. A remarkable woman who dedicated her whole life to service. I miss her greatly. Rest In Peace Ma’am.❤
I'm a Filipino but the queen was born a few years after my maternal grandmother to whom I was very close to. She lived the rest of her life with QEII as the reigning monarch & she died with her still on the throne in 1991. My mother who passed away last year had not known anyone else in her lifetime as the monarch but for QEII & she loved getting any simple item featuring the queen on it. I grew up at a time when King Charles, his late former wife, Princess Diana & Prince William were indeed well known as they could ever be. Most of the girls my age were crushing on Prince William as teens. I do love the pomp and pageantry that evolves around them, but I love more that they are just like any normal family. They loved being around each other & though they were known for that "stiff upper lip," I believe that through the years that has changed. I loved how they are and always have been at the forefront of popular people who brings attention to what matters to those who have it hard. I truly believe in their kind-heartedness except for a few in the past few years. I wouldn't want to say it's because of the "American influence" in the family because the one who brought that about is also not very American. So sad really how a bad apple can really ruin something good and true. Rest in peace your Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Go and rest with the love of your life. May you & Prince Philip no longer be troubled by the MoMM. Hope you'd watch over everyone especially the ones who've lost himself/thenselves.
The world hasn’t been the same since she left. May our memory of her and her glorious reign last throughout the centuries ahead! Long live the memory of Her Late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, the great!
no... I was doing ok until the end, another American here who has known no other Sovereign, she kept her promise.... "Surely goodness & mercy shall follow me all the days of my life & I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever". "No goodbyes, just good memories" 🌈
The show started telling the story of the oldest and longest reigning monarch alive and now is a fictional tale about a queen that once was. We're witnessing history.
I sent my Deepest Condolences to the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 British Royal Family and British Government for the loss Death of her Majesty, Late Queen Elizabeth 2nd. May her Majesty, Late Queen Elizabeth 2nd Rest in peace 🙏.
As my father was born in Great Britain, he, my brother, and I all qualify for British citizenship, so when she died, I felt a hole in my heart, as if I had lost a family member!
May God bless her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.. thank you for reigning over us and condolences to the Royal Family on the loss of a magnificent woman, mother, leader.. there will be no other!! Love from Australia XXXX 😇
I don’t have Netflix so I’ve never seen The Crown. But the show should end with scenes from the Platinum Jubilee followed by a simple title card with Queen Elizabeth II passed away on September 8, 2022 at her beloved Balmoral Castle surrounded by her children King Charles III & Princess Anne, Princess Royal. She is missed by all
Though I am American, I feel as though she was also my Queen. I grew up with her as Queen, and unlike our Presidents, she was constant. Like a an anchor to a drifting ship. I mourn her with our UK friends. My heart aches.
Such strength, poise, class, dignity, love, determination, & change that she brought not only to the UK & the Commonwealth, but the World. Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, was a true world leader in every sense of the title. She truly was Queen of the World. 💯 The history that she made & her reign will never be forgotten. Thank you, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. You have made this world a better place for us all. 🇺🇸❤🇬🇧 Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II April 21, 1926 - September 8, 2022 🕊👑💔🥀🕊
She is truly at rest, back with her Prince and love of her life. As an American, she was not my queen, but someone I admired for her unwavering duty to country before self. Rest in peace, Your Majesty. 💜
