My husband of 42 years passed away in 2006 and it’s very hard now sometimes. I’m pretty good most of the time but yesterday I was feeling the Queen’s pain and I was sad. My father passed away 2 years ago and him and my mother were married 73 years. I have an 8 year old granddaughter who never knew my husband but loved my dad so much and still cries for him. It’s always harder for those of us left behind. He was the only man in her life who loved her.

My mother lost her husband @52. (he just turned 60.. dropped dead of a massive heart attack) Lost her son @ 69 (he had been only 49... blood clot) Her mother @ 32. Her sisters @ 34 & 48. Both of them younger than her & with children of their own. Her brother.... she lost her whole family. She raised 8 children. 3 of us were only teenagers. Worked her ass off. Though I feel bad when anyone dies, I have to say this woman was lucky enough to have her husband for 74 yrs. The family had their father for 73 yrs. That isn't too shappy. He was 99 yrs. old. He lived a good life. He lived a well to do life. He is with God. People die. Again, sorry he died. RIP, but he lived a long & satisfying life. Those children should be grateful for all those years. I would have given anything to have had that time with my Dad.

My mother lost her WWII Navy veteran who she was married to for 73 years just 2 years ago. My parents were a very special couple who would still hold hands and loved each very much. The men of that generation were very special, it’s a shame there are pictures of Phillip with other women flirting and drinking. My dad never did that, he only worked hard and supported his family and tried to give my mom everything she wanted. Not many people can stay married that long. I liked the Naval touch at his funeral.

Then again she has had alot that no one else has she has been blessed beyond belief.

What i love is that she was trained as a mechanic at 18 and loved it. In England, back in the day, she always enjoyed a drive and my favorite story is when she pulled over during one of those drives to help someone who had broken down and actually fixed their car and got it started.
