This was on the same album thst starts with We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions. The resistance great but didn't stand a chance. Have you done Dragon Attack yet? John Deacon gives his bass a workout.
REALLY LIKE THE NEW OUTRO TO THE VIDEOS THOUGHT THAT WAS GONNA BE OUR NEW YEARS TREAT CHRISTMAS CAME EARLY LOL THANKS JAMEL_AKA_JAMAL ✌🏼& LO💚E MY BROTHER
It’s freaking me out how many people are commenting that they’ve never heard this song. Yes it’s obscure, but it’s also on one of their greatest albums of all time.
Is it? It's certainly not on the Their Greatest Hits (Red Album) or Classic Queen (Blue Album) I'm also fairly certain its not on their other Greatest Hits album.
@@j.d.6915 Pay attention J.D. I said “one” of “their” greatest albums. And like anything else, it’s a matter of opinion. But I get it, you’re not happy unless you’re disputing somebody’s opinion. Get a life.
@@j.d.6915 Ok, well my apologies for my harsh reply to you. There are many people on RU-vid that dispute even the most common sense things some people comment about.
None of their albums ever had filler songs, just ones that were not released as singles. This song is a great example! "Spread Your Wings" is another under-appreciated gem!
I hate to break it to you but... Delilah? That's filler if there ever was one. Also, the Made in Heaven track that is literal silence, half of Hot Space, Leaving Home Ain't Easy. I mean don't get me wrong they had a lot of under-rated possible hits but there was filler.
Jamel, this is my favorite Queen deep track. I was 13 when "News of the World" came out. I loved every song on the album and wore out the grooves I played it so much.
Brother, this was the most overlooked of their songs. Likely because We Will Rock You and We are the Champions were radio hits. But some of us true fans wore out our albums listening to all the tracks. You are the only reaction video maker who has taken my suggestion to review this. Consider yourself hugged. Love from Canada. You made my day.
Thanks for suggesting this one Kathy! You're right, it's easily overlooked but definitely one of their best! Nice to know there's other fans who feel the same.
You are correct only us true fans listened to the whole album, the only group I had all of their albums way back in HS. I think all the albums from the 70's are pure genius.
I'm not sure which Queen member said this (thinking it was May), but when asked what song was the best representation of their music, he said "It's late"
Queen have had so many hits that songs like this are in their deep cuts category, Around the same time in late 70's songs like "Let Me Entertain You" "Dead On Time" and "Spread Your Wings" are some of their best work for then but the hits got the airplay
9:30 because they have bigger songs than others, but literally every single song is amazing. You won't see many requests for their song Flick of the Wrist, though its literally as amazing as everything else from them. Loved your take on the lyrics, Love your reactions, and loved this one too. Please do more Queen. And btw at 8:46 Freddie hit the note E6, its one of his Highest.
Ah, Sheer Heart Attack stuff. This was a great album, but this is where they discovered how much the record company was messing them over. This led to Nigh at the Opera, one of the most perfect albums ever.
One of my favorites. I saw Queen with Freddie 3 times including the News of the World tour and they either played it on this one or the one after it. I have also seen Queen w/Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert and they did It's Late in 2017. The best part was Brian May started the song on the far left of the stage - 15 - 20 feet away from me - I was in the 1st row on the side - not floor but actually stage high. Have a picture and video somewhere....
The first minute or so of this video is Brian May starting the song 15-20 feet in front of me - this was without any zoom ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VLb6zHJUDK8.html
The first requests will mostly be for "famous" songs that were on the radio and greatest hits albums. But Queen has lots of album tracks like this gem! I'm glad you're starting to get deeper into their catalog. I'd love to see you react to White Queen, March of the Black Queen, and The Prophet's Song. And so many more!
Possibly my favourite Queen song of all time...and there is some serious competition. Just amazing. The highest Freddie note ever recorded on this track too x
Thanks for doing this one, Jamel! I bought News Of The World back in 1977 right after it dropped. This song stood out to me immediately and is still my absolute favorite Queen song. I love the journey it takes. Just an amazing (and underrated) song.
One of my favorite lesser known Queen songs. Brian May is a rock guitar god! I was 17 when this song came out and was lucky enough to see Queen in concert at full power 3 times in ‘77 and ‘78. Greatest concerts I’ve ever seen.
What a classic band! A mighty fine track by guitarist Brian May and those amazing vocals of the late great Freddie! Don't forget Roger on those drums and talented quiet bassist John Deacon. Long live Queen!
My fav Queen song! Finally! Now if you would do the studio version of "Dragon Attack". Dude I asked for this song in just about every Queen reaction you did.
To me, Queen’s music is like a musical library that has so many different chapters..It’s Late wasn’t a huge success when it was released as a single but it’s one of their best, lesser known tracks. Thank you for your reaction to this song. I thoroughly enjoy your reactions and look forward to watching more obscure, lesser known tracks. All my best to you and yours this holiday season, Cheers!!😃🎄
I'm a Queen Fan since I was 12y. 1982... And when I've heard this song the first time I loved it just like the great Hits. And I couldnt understand that my friends didn't know this song. For example 'We will rock you', that we played on every school party with stomping our hands two times on the floor and then one clap. I still love like this gem. And sometimes I listen to it in my car.
I felt for a long time I was alone in (ahem) 'discovering' this song on the album, and loving it. So nice to see the bold Jamel enjoying it for the first time
Aaah yessss dear 🙌🏻 Queen 👑 again, you made my day. I really hope to see more Queen…….they have so much beautiful stuff in their catalogue. Much bless and love ❤️ keep up the good work.
This is my favorite Queen song, and I’ve requested it multiple times. I sometimes wonder if the fact that there were no videos of them doing this song is why it was never reacted to often.
Omg!!! I love this track and it’s one of the least known as queen songs. This and melancholy blues are probably my two most favorite songs off this album. Sheer heart attack is without a doubt the hardest rocking of all of Queens songs. Thanks for checking this out and I hope you enjoyed it.
Great reaction! That is the problem with a big band such as Queen, is that people request the most popular songs that were hits and they have many causal fans that only know the biggest hits, Queen have loads of amazing underrated songs in their catalogue that were never hits or released as singles. It's Late is one of them, the also features the song also features the highest note on a Queen album in the studio. Check out The Great King Rat - Queen 1974, it is great, or My Fairy King or The March Of The Black Queen.
Back in the 70's, if the studio didn't release a song as a single (those little 45 RPMs with the big hole in the middle), it didn't get much play on the radio stations. So, unless you bought the whole album, you didn't get to hear this song, and many other amazing songs...
News of the world was a tough album to get noticed given the 2 hits on it (we will rock you & champions). Absolutely top 3 song of theirs imo. Spread your wings & my melancholy blues are also stand outs from that album.
You nailed it when you said that this song should have been requested more. It is absolutely one of my favourite Queen tunes. It is one kick-ass song and I am so glad you finally got to hear it.
It definitely should've been more highly requested. This is one if their greatest hidden gems, and is one of my favourite ever Queen songs. Thanks for giving this song an airing!
This whole album is insanely awesome, “News of the World.” Maybe it could be a whole album reaction like you’ve done before? I loved listening to those with you.
There are tons of Queens songs that are "under the radar". They have dozens of amazing songs that not many people know. And most of my favorite songs are in that category. I would love to see you react to songs like "White Queen (as it began)" (1975 live at the rainbow version is amazing), "March of the Black Queen", "My Mellancholy Blues" or "Millionaire Waltz". Great Job, man!!!
Thank you!💙More Queen is ALWAYS a good thing! Now would be the perfect time for their Christmas song, "Thank God It's Christmas". People requested it last year but you still might not be aware of it. And now it's almost Christmas again. Hoping you'll do it, Official video please.🎄❄🎄
For me "it's Late" is the most underrated Queen songs of all time and one of my favorites, I never got why this song wasn't more popular. I believe the reason that "It's Late" didn't get the airplay it deserved was because of executives were not happy with the length of this song?
There are so many layers to Queen you will never understand until start peeling them back. I started listening to Queen in 1977 when I was 7 years old. My first rock concert was a Queen concert when I was 12. Dive into their catalog, your life will change.
Great track from News of the World. For a totally different feel you should listen to My Melancholy Blues from the same album. That will give you goose bumps.
Thank you for your reaction. This actually was released as a single in the US, but didn''t get much airplay. The shorter single version didn't do the song good and the full sung was with 6.25 too long for most radio stations. I think it's one of their best rock songs. Superb vocals and instruments. Brian my used the finger tapping technique one year earlier on a record than Eddie van Halen.
Great song! If I heard it before I do not recall. My favorite Queen song is "Now I'm Here" and Def Leppard performed it very well with Brian May at the benefit concert after Freddy Mercury died.
Classic Queen song from the great Dr. Brian May!! Thanks for playing this great Queen deep track. It's awesome! You should do more deep tracks like this.
Queen is incredible! Freddy Mercury was musically talented in every single way. He wrote Bohemian Rhapsody lyrics and music himself. Then we have lead guitarist Brian May who graduated in 1974 earning his BSc(Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors, Mathematicsand Physics) and he immediately began working on his doctorate. With the the rise to fame and popularity as a founding member of Queen, the intense tour schedule the band had, he put his extended higher learning on hold...for 37 years. In May of 2006 he re-registered to earn his doctorate at his Alma Mater, Imperial College. In May 2007 he submitted his thesis "A Survey of Radial Velocities in the Zodiacal Dust Cloud" was approved in September 2007. Royal Albert Hall on 14 May 2008. Brian H. May, Ph.D Astrophysicist. That is damned impressive! Bryan "Dexter" Holland, Ph.D, from The Offspring on lead vocals, guitar and piano. Holland was awarded his Ph.D. in molecular biology during the USC Commencement on May 12, 2017. How cool are these two, Brian and Bryan?!?~APRIL LIPKE
One of my favorite tracks by Queen. It's in my top 5 favorites. I think it is a hidden gem. I don't know how it flew under the radar it's such an underrated awesome song.
This has been my favorite track since i heard it when i was 12 in 1992. It's the song i would play for anyone who doesn't know who they are. It's rock, it's soulful, it's emotional, and it's heavy. The guitars soar. The rhythm is a perfect canvas. Freddie's voice tells the perfect story of a disintegrating and unrequited love. (and it goes double time for the "climax")
LOL Awesome reaction to a criminally overlooked gem! That's why Queen stands the test of time! Their music is about real, everyday people with relatable things and issues in life among so many other things!!
This song was overlooked by most. It wasn't one of their big hits. However, back in the day, we listened to entire albums at one time. We became familiar with ALL the songs that our favorite artists put out. Now music is more segmented. You choose a song to download rather than an entire album. The bigger hits are well known, but other songs don't get the same airplay on radio or online. I owned this album. I knew every song from beginning to end. Hearing this again was like listening to an old friend you haven't heard from in years.
Jamel, Queen has 15 studio albums, including the Flash Gordon soundtrack. There's only a handful of radio chart toppers, so you'll find a ton of songs that "slip under the radar" as you say. There's a ton of Queen for you to hear if you'd like. Most that hasn't been heard by most people, only fans.
Thank you thank you thank you .....one of my favourite Queen tracks .. written by Brian May .... there's so many great album tracks that were never singles , a lot of their best work is overlooked by the amazing chart singles they put out . Please re act to Brighton Rock , pre Bohemian Rhapsody, from the Sheer Heart Attack album . Love you channel 😁❤ Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and all your family 🎄🎄🤶🤶🎅🎅☃️☃️🧑🎄🧑🎄 PS ....Freddie accused Brian of trying to break his voice when they were recording this , all tongue in cheek though 😁 difficult vocals on it x
Lots a fabulous songs, Good Company, Sleeping on the Side Walk, Millionaires Walse, Nevermore, lily of the Valley, Dreamers Ball ...live in Paris...there are tons..
Queen have a lot of underrated tracks, especially from the 1970s. But with many artists, when your biggest album is a Greatest Hits album, many will just stick with that and not go any further, which is a sad shame. Everyone knows Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are The Champions, Another One Bites The Dust, Under Pressure, Somebody To Love, We Will Rock You, Radio Gaga, and plenty more, but there are many many more track in between those that don't get any recognition. Start checking out some of their deep cuts from the 1970s like The March Of The Black Queen, Teo Torriatte, The Prophet's Song, Death On Two Legs, Ogre Battle, Seven Seas Of Rhye, Son And Daughter, and pretty much anything off their first 5 albums!
I just saw this video, but this is one of my favorite Queen songs. Like the best kept secret in their back catalogue. Along with Black Queen, Ogre Battle, and '39.
They had so many hits dude, every member had a hit, they had fights over what to release!. There are tons of 'under the radar' classics with these guys, they spanned a good few decades and had an album out every year, I know, I waited for them. An album a year was pretty rear back in the 70's/80's I would recommend 'You Take my Breath Away' 'Spread Your Wings' '39' 'The Prophets Song' 'Love of My Life'
When I bought this ALBUM, It was played all the way through...And this was the best non-frequently played song from this album👍🏼 Love this song, and love your feel for all this “underrated” music. Peace and Love, Merry Christmas ❣️
MY favorite Queen song. I never get tired or bored with this song. Great riff! Every time I hear this at home, I have to pick up a guitar and start playing it. LOUD! Long Live Dr. Brian May
I think one of the Reasons Queen keep giving today is their sheer diversity. Everyone has their fave songs sure you’ve get the popular ones but their catalogue incorpratre multitudes of styles that many bands we consider great only seemed to be able to produce in singular.
Thank you for bringing Queen back. Please react Spread Your Wings, My Melancholy Blues, Who Needs You (from same album News of the World), The Prophets Song, The March of The Black Queen…
THIS is one of my FAVORITE Queen songs. As a Drummer, you can just FEEL this song building to the final crescendo and climactic ending...just a beautifully dramatic song, and you can feel the emotion in Freddy's voice (like ALL Queen songs) building throughout the song. Took me a few times to learn the triplet ending note-for-note, but well worth the time spent !! Great great song !!
You have to listen to The Prophet's Song. With the full headphones. Pure eargasm. Also, '39, which is a whole science fiction story, and Brian May does the lead vocals. Might be my favorite. Both of those from Night at the Opera. They don't have a bad song, of course.
_Prophet's Song_ is perhaps my favorite Queen song ever. But yea _"they don't have a bad song"_ so it's hard to choose just one. _39'_ is fantastic too and really showcases just how talented and versatile of a band they were. I also love _Death on Two Legs._ And having grown up as a guitarist in the Bay Area thrash-metal scene in the 80's, one of my favorites _Ogre Battle_ witch has a serious thrash-metal-esque main riff that I love. Nope, no bad songs.
I'm a long time Queen fan (and long time Van Halen fan) and I didn't remember hearing this song before, but immediately could hear Brian May is using the pick hand tapping technique that Eddie Van Halen was famous for. So I looked it up and this song is from their album _News Of The World_ that came out a few months before Van Halen's first album in 1977. Brian saw a Texas guitarist named Rocky Athas using the technique at the Mother Blues club in Dallas some time before they recorded that album.
Jamel nailed it, FLEW UNDER THE RADAR when Queen came out with this song. Much to long to play on radio spots, so never got wide exposure. I played this song so many times as i owned their 'News Of The World' albumn that had this song on it. So GLAD you reacted to this. ANother song that everyone forgot back then was Albert Hammond's - The Free Electric Band. {Suggest you react to this}.
