New for us here . Thanks for another cool experience ! Going back an checking out some ones that were missed ...🤘😎🤘 More Freddy up front. Oh yeah ! Good catch !
This version was not mixed the same way as the released version, but Mercury's vocals are really strong in the early part, as you noticed. THANK YOU for posting this.
Freddie always kills it, and this is in my top five Queen songs. It's a strong alternate lead vocal but I can see why he and the band chose the take they released. It has more upper register moments that take the song to the highest heights. As for other great rock vocalists, Chris Cornell is amazing.
To hear him by himself, listen and watch his 1976 Hyde Park, London performance of You take my breath away, just him and piano, an unrecorded record at the time he performed it.
This is one of my favorite Queen songs, how did I miss this until now? I’ve not heard this version. Freddie is kicking ass! And Brian May is top 5 guitarists for me.
Your command over the English language is also impressive. I have loved Queen since about 1977 and love all four of them. Freddie holds a special place for me because with him always trying for perfection truly earned it most of the time. Not to mention Bei, John and Roger who all wrote excellent songs and were better than some thought they were. The four of them together were just perfection.
Wow loved your reaction. It's Late is one of my fav's! Thank you! Thank you! Freddie can reflect/absorb/project any musical instrument, this was his reflection of the band and its amazing abilities.
Really enjoyed your comments. I love all these alternate versions, especially if there is any dialogue with the band included. This track was written in I believe 1977 & that might account for the engineering issues you describe as the technology was obviously very different. I saw an interview recently where they discussed how they would try many different versions of a song & Freddie joked, “yea well you don’t have to sing all of them!”
Please take a listen to the official album version, as this one was an alternate take (only released on the 40th anniversary edition as bonus material).
Early versions..., demo versions... alternative version.... all of Queen’s and Freddie’s stuff are amazing!! “All dead, all dead”... with Freddie version, “Stealin’ 12 minutes sesión.., “Dreamers Ball”, or “Who needs you”... all of that are very hidden gems ready to discover!!! Thanks for your reaction..!! 👍🏻👍🏻✅✅🥰🌸❤️
They all were at the mixing desk a lot (they were all control freaks lol). I heard that Freddie liked it when the guitars challenged the vocals (like a duet) in a video about we are the champions.
All I've ever heard was the album version. The alternative was fkn' amazing! Thanks for that!!! Yes, Freddie is one of those vocalist that one can only aspire to be. Amazing job brother!
Fantastic analysis. I’m a die-hard Queen fan since the beginning. Not a fan of Adam Lambert, either. Freddie was definitely the greatest, and Brian May deserves props. But, you can’t ignore the solid baselines of John Deacon or the masterful fills by drummer Roger Taylor. My personal favorite song, showcasing Freddie’s vocals, is “One Year of Love”, written by John Deacon. One of the eight songs that Queen did for the soundtrack of the movie Highlander. Freddie was the best ❤❤❤❤ Check out Who Needs You from the same 40th anniversary edition. So good. Also if you haven't seen it already please react to Somebody To Love live from Montreal. THE best live performance ever imo.
Listen to the extended version of the demo for " Stealin'" please, it wasn't on an album, but was the b side of a single in a shorter version, and the 1979 Paris version of Dreamers Ball for different sounds
Wow that was so fun to watch, love your reaction and comment. I would love to hear what you have to say about March of the black queen and the prophet's song. Thank you thank you for this not often it's late version, loved to watch it you!
This isn’t the final mix that was on the record. You need to listen to that too. The Queen treasure trove is so deep that once you get into it you cannot escape. News of the World alone has numerous different styles or genres on it and they are all amazing. Queen are the greatest ever.
Official DramaSydE Hi! How about Melancholy Blues, you have probably aware of it, I just love blues and just find it awesome that Queen did it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-85gBquP4y3k.html once again thank you.
@@DramaSydETV Dreamers Ball live in Paris, just for some light hearted fun, & Brian doing trombone vocalizations with no trombone! I love your reaction today, & just subscribed for more Queen. And maybe I can get you to check out Angelina Jordan, if you haven't already.
Though you are not a fan of Adam Lambert, I will give you my analysis. Saw Queen twice in 74 and 81. I am now 62 years old and knew if I didn't get off my dead ass I would never again see Brian May's genius. Saw them in Pittsburgh this summer. So glad I did . Brian blew us a way with a nine minute solo. Funny but for years whenever I play queen I point my finger and cue Brian, found myself doing that at the concert also. Adam Lambert is amazingly humble and respectful of Freddie and Queen fans. Can you imagine the thought of stepping into Freddie's shoes. I thank him because if it were not for him Queen would not be touringand I would have never seen Bri and Roger again.
Freddie.. amazing as usual, this is a raw version, still brilliant... however... the track off the album, he hits supersonic heights -WOW Exhausting 😉 ❤️Freddie ❤️
Yeah Brian gets too little love, people claim his "Skill" is all in his Red Special home build guitar (I've seen some Prog agings hipsters says his guitar is all tricks, they've obviously never seen him live or tried to play a Red special replica). He DOES get respect from actual guitarists. Folks like Satriani have love for him and his skills.
Yeah - Brian all the way -- I hate it when people today criticize he and Roger for "moving on" - OMG - I loved Freddie, too - there will never be another like him -- but musicians gotta "mus-ish" if you know what I mean - it's not disrespectful to continue your playing/writing/performing even though you've lost a great member of your band... it's what you do!
Doesn’t have to be today, LOL. But Tuesday is my birthday, so one (or both) would be a wonderful gift.😉🤗 I really think you’ll enjoy them as they show the amazing quality of Freddie’s voice even towards the end of his life.
I loved your analysis and this version of one of my favorites. I hope you will explore the Queen II album. It has many really outstanding tracks but for contrast, White Queen written by Brian May and The March of the Black Queen written by Freddie are really stunning. Also from the 1974 Sheer Heart Attack album, Stone Cold Crazy has been called the first thrash metal song. Brian May's riff in this one is outstanding and so is Freddie's amazing vocal.
There were some great voices in those days. Freddie? Certainly. Steve Perry, Pat Benatar, Ann Wilson, Geoff Tate, Karen Carpenter. Heck, for harmonies, Beach Boys, Mamas and Papas, The Righteous Brothers, ABBA. The list goes on and on.
Listen to the album version it’s a totally different mix. Also, EVERYBODY talks about Brian. He is at the top of every guitar player list. Great take on it. I love your reaction vids.
Fantastic song overall. As an aspiring drummer, though, it's Roger's PHENOMENAL drumming here that pushes this song into my top 10 of all Queen songs. (Although, I do prefer the mix that made it on the album, not this one).
Great song. This song was written my Brian about a woman while on the road. It was followed by Too Much Love Will Kill You, which he wrote about his affair and struggle with his wife and family. He eventually left and is still married to her. He contemplated suicide during that time.
I found a remastered version on Google Play. I don't have the fancy head gear. If you can listen to a sample that is offered and let me know if they sat the vocals on top or not would be a great update. Thanks enjoy what you do Dramaside!
You've made some gr8 points, agree 100%! Thanks for the vídeo, greetings from Brazil!! PS: Would u do a "Stranger in Moscow-live in Bucharest" ,by Michael Jackson, please? Would love to see that!
News of the world album was huge album when I started high school. Always thought this song was deep cut treasure! ...Oh, ps this is an alternate version to the album. I can hear it's a little different to the album. Also they were so experimental as were so many of the 70's bands, the mix just might an extension of that creativity.
Man I am up at 330 in the morning feeling sick so I have been binge watching your channel. Upchurch brought me to you and I subbed because you are genuine and that's what I respect. I think there is a song/music video you would really enjoy. If it's not too much to ask, would you consider checking out "Monument" by Mutemath? The music video is based on a real man's story. Reminds me of my grandma and grandfather. Thanks so much and I love the channel ❤️
This is not the final version though, sort of a pre-final version. The studio released version was a tougher vocal rendition. First time visiting here. I prefer your Queen reactions over the bandwagon click-baiters,, love it.
@@DramaSydETV you seem "real time" so - if you want to check out a good live version: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jixYwUuW5U0.html -- although I would really, really like you to also see the amazing chemistry with Freddie & Brian in the live version of "Save Me" -- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yUyPyTn-IS4.html
I think you would prefer the version released on the album News of the World. It's a much cleaner mix but retains the rock groove. Also the drums come right up in the mix.
Dragon Attack live at Montreal fantastic showcase of all members excellent quality ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aWwS7pMyhCs.html I am not a fan of the studio version, this version changed my mind, love it
