The entire band killed it that day. Brian May has said that the band helped but this was really Freddie’s day……what a performance!!! I never tire of watching this legendary performance!! For some early Queen, please react to White Queen live at Hammersmith Odeon 1975 and Stone Cold Crazy live at the Rainbow 1974.

I just found your channel and I get so excited seeing young people discover Queen I am working my way through the Queen playlist and enjoying your reactions and looking forward to some Queen notifications. I have some suggestions: Bohemian Rhapsody Official video Save Me - Live Under Pressure - At Wembley Love of My Life live in Montreal and Rock in Rio (Freddie sings the song in Montreal, but in Rio, the crowd sings the majority of it back to him - it’s amazing!) You Take My Breath Away The Show Must Go On - One of his last recordings Don’t Stop Me Now Another One Bites The Dust

Tara, may I suggest one of my favourite's Queen live performances. I'm talking about "Somebody to love", also at Montreal concert. Freddie forever!

The two camera men on Freddie's side Bob Wilson and a Alistair Mitchell holding the wires died around the same time Freddie did. As did one of the two men on the other side.. A legendary concert...because Queen and Freddie took it to another level and rehearsed for days before... whereas the other bands etc just did around 3 songs. Bob Geldof said this is exactly what he wanted and Queen delivered!!. Voted best live concert by the way. They had around 17 minutes or so per set, hence some songs were shortened. Freddie was so funny, full of humour and was a fantastic performer on the stage. Crazy little thing was written by Freddie in the bath in 10 minutes.. it was written with Elvis in mind...

All the biggest bands of the day performed at Live Aid. There were two concerts held simultaneously in London and Philadelphia to raise money for the Ethiopian famine. Each band got a 20 minute time slot and if you went over they turned your sound off. Many bands turned up with the attitude that since they weren’t being paid for it, it didn’t matter what sort of performance they gave. Led Zeppelin were terrible, and it pains me to say so because I love them. By contrast Queen practiced for two weeks before with alarm clocks all around, they condensed and increased the tempo so they could fit in as many of their hits as possible. They were thoroughly prepared and it showed. Someone said when Queen took the stage everyone backstage reacted as if a dog whistle had gone off. They all stopped what they were doing because they knew Queen had killed it. David Bowie went on after them and said “You bastards. How am I supposed to follow that? I always think it’s a shame they didn’t perform Under Pressure together, what a great opportunity. Freddie was the best front man ever. His fans would have walked over hot coals for him

OKAY OKAY - You had me at LIVE AID … ✅ ❎ 🟢 This charity event to raise money for the famine in Africa was viewed all over the world! Top artists of that time donated their time & money to raise awareness for the famine. Queen wasn’t on the early artists’ list so the audience wasn’t sure that Queen was even going to perform. So you can imagine the ROAR when Queen took to the stage!! Each artist was given 20 min & nothing more OR their power would be shut off. What makes Queen’s performance so amazing is that they fit 6 songs into their 20 min set while other artists did only 2-3 songs!🎶🎶 Freddie was cautioned not to perform by his Dr. due to throat nodules & as you can see Freddie was the ultimate performer!! This performance went down in history as the single best performance by a rock band considering the circumstances. Roger commented that it was Freddie’s day to shine! And boy did he!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

The majority of these artists performed at either Wembley Stadium in London, where a crowd of 70,000 turned out, or at Philadelphia’s JFK Stadium, where 100,000 watched. Thirteen satellites beamed a live television broadcast of the event to more than one billion viewers in 110 countries. More than 40 of these nations held telethons for African famine relief during the broadcast.

Sherry, the other people he read off (Doug Bougie, Mike Grose, etc) were short-term bassists their first year, from 1970… before they met, auditioned and snatched up John Deacon in 1971 (his place in the band became official on March 1, 1971) … The other people currently touring with them are not in fact considered “Queen” members in an official capacity, which is why all later incarnations are known as “Queen +” … although in my opinion, Spike Edney has more than earned that honor

To the host of this channel. I feel every vibe you do when It comes to Queen and Freddie Mercury. I switch my eyes from the video you are playing to the look on your face.. Shivers run down my spine! I grew up with Queen here in the UK and remember their first performance with "Killer Queen" and then Bohemian Rhapsody and so on and on.. You were not even born then I guess but every six months or so there was something new from Queen and their list of songs grew and grew.. Freddie could sing so spine chilling and the band It self was so spine chilling with the music they wrote and you know? they wrote for everybody and their music was situational.. Whatever was going on in peoples live, good or bad, they wrote for it. I love the way you react to Queen, Freddie etc and as a youngster yourself makes me personally proud that someone like you at your age loves what I have loved all my life. Thank you!

Radio Ga-ga is a Roger Taylor song. It was originally Radio Ca-ca, which was something Roger's 3-year-old son said. He's half-french and ca-ca is poop or shit in French. They weren't sure they'd get away with it so changed the title to ga-ga. Occasionally, it sounds as if they're singing ca-ca.

Watch the movie for the great music and entertainment value, but don’t believe much of it. They made Freddie out to be a real prick which he wasn’t, the time line is totally wrong, the band never broke up, Freddie didn’t tell them about his diagnosis until they were recording The Miracle album in 1988, three years after the movie would have you believe. It’s a fun movie, and the music is fabulous, yeah just don’t believe it all

Great reaction to what is said to be the greatest show in rock history. The half mic stand came about by chance. When first performing with the band, Freddie tried to remove the mic but the stand broke and he kept it in the act. When he turns his a*s to the audience, he does it as a sign of disrespect and disgust towards their former management, Trident. Listen to the song, “Death on Two Legs”. Because of Trident, after having recorded 7 albums and toured extensively, QUEEN WERE BROKE! The band was told, “don’t break any guitar strings nor drum sticks. You can’t afford it.” Trident refused to give John a small deposit to buy a house, nor the money for Freddie to buy his piano while management were driving around in brand new limos! Their excuse was they were investing every possible profit into QUEEN. Fascinating the superstardom they achieved after so many false starts and dashed hopes at the very beginning. Freddie was instrumental in getting the others to focus on the fact they were not like other bands, they were so much better. Queen refused be pigeon-holed, only repeating styles of their past albums. They saw redundancy as a complete waste of time. He got them to realize they were going to become the best band in the world. Mission accomplished.

This was an all day concert to raise money for the horrible famine in Africa. Each band was given exactly 20 minutes to perform. If they ran over, the sound was cut off. Freddie insisted that they rehearse for 2 weeks to be able to do as many of their hits as possible in the 20 minutes alloted to them. They timed every move to perfection.... including Freddie's "pose" after Radio GaGa and his call-out with the audience. You will have noticed that they shortened We Will Rock You. There were lights at the front of the stage for the bands to see. When the yellow caution light came on they had a few minutes left (I forget how many minutes that was... maybe 3 or 4?). Watch the end of We Are The Champions again. Just as Freddie puts his arm up to signal the last beat of the song, look down at the front of the stage facing the band and you will see the right light come on. They nailed the timing!!!! Every member of Queen is an extraordinary musician, songwriter and professional. They all always gave 100%... and .... each member of the band had written a number 1 hit song. They were also highly intelligent and well educated. Freddie had a degree in graphic design, RogerTaylor had studied dentistry but switched to a degree in biology, John Deacon was an electronics whiz and had a degree in electronics and Brian May studied astonomy and in 2008 finished his PhD in astrophysics. And amazing group of 4.......... R.I.P. dear Freddie. The greatest front man in rock history and a musical genius......... If you want to appreciate ...... even more.....this 20 minute Queen performance at Live Aid, I strongly suggest that you watch this video..... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dx1zvc8Pa0Y.html

How many people there ? 72,000 @ Wembley, UK 90,000 @ Philadelphia, USA Linked by live satellite and beamed to estimated 1.5 to 1.9 billion worldwide (depending on which figures you believe) The first time ever this had been attempted. Queen was without doubt the standout set of entire day … they chose the songs, practised solidly for a week and filled every moment of the allocated 20 mins per band/performer. Far too many performers just turned up and played 2-3 of their songs and it really showed the different level of respect that Queen had for their audience compared to others. But then 70,000 in their direct audience was a normal size for Queen who played major stadiums as standard and much bigger like Rio (250,000 to 350,000 again, depending on who you believe!) I remember this day so clearly but then I was early twenties!!! 👑❣️👑❣️👑
