I'm a millennial but i know who Aretha Franklin is, i came to know her when i was watching glee and then mercedes jones sang natural woman, i heard Celine Dion cover of it and decided to look for it on youtube; while looking, i saw that there was another Aretha Franklin cover by mercedes jones which was Ain't no way and it sounded so good, so i decided to look for Aretha Franklins original versions of her songs and then didn't even realized i was already listening to a playlist of her songs, chains of fools, spirit in the dark, i knew you were waiting for me, etc. Her voice gave her songs life, like she's telling a story, like somehow you've been through it all, making it all sentimental. My personal favourite Aretha track will always be "Freeway Of Love" because it was the first Aretha Franklin 45 I ever bought!
