There's a video of this song here on RU-vid somewhere with English subtitles that is neat to watch if you can read subtitles real fast! It's interesting and it explains why the singer in this recording looks so mean. She is a mother in the opera, yelling at her daughter!

I have heard this piece so many times over silly videos or over things that make NO SENSE - it makes me think people have forgotten what the true emotion behind it actually is, and dang she nailed it! 👌💕

I love the aggression at the end when she whispers in her daughter’s ear and slams the knife next to her - it made me laugh for some reason

Elena Mosuc is excellent. Beautiful clarity on those top notes and fantastic timbre throughout. There are plenty of videos of Diana, feel free to watch those. It doesn't mean that this excellent soprano isn't deserving of praise.
