great version - he includes the last verse which he didn't do when I saw them in Cleveland in '81 - Roger's always been one of my favorite drummers and he tears it apart here
I love his voice he can go pretty high. And you have to realize he's old now not like when he was recording "The Game" but his voice's still the same. Brian too
¡¡¡VAMOS ROGER TAYLOR!!!!! CON QUEEN... IMPRESIONANTE VOZ...NO SABIAMOS DE ESTA SENSACIONAL VOZ...TENDRIA QUE ESTAR FRENTE A QUEEN...TOTALMENTE...SALUDOS..
I just watched the music vid of this when he was still young and all and then I watched this he has the same voice after all these years nothing has changed!! (except they got older though) ROCK ON ROGER AND BRIAN!!!
This is no more queen, however fans like me and all around the world would like to have the rest of them performing since no band has equal. Last friday they came to argentina were i live and i could finally enjoy the songs i love most and i waited most for. What really matters is the music al last, even if freddie is not there anymore.
Roger's trademark is hi hat open every two beats on the + of first beat. Listen to good-old fashioned lover boy and see how many times he opens his hi hat
Nobody can but we should appreciate he had the guts to take that place that no one else had don´t you think? he is not replacing freddie he is just participating
It's a shame that he's not doing his trademark fills that much enymore. In the old days he used to do them every 4 beats, now he just plays steady 4/4 beat. But the song still rocks!
What a great band. These guys should hook up with X-Japan for a tour. Toshi could handle the vocals and Brian's style if guitar is almost tailor made for X's style of music. Yoshiki could handle the piano parts of both grps and they wouldn't have to play pre recorded music since roger can double on the drums. A match made in heaven.
Just saying that I think a joint tour between Queen and X-Japan would be a good thing, a really good thing, a legendary thing. Nothing against PR, he's a true rock legend, but I think a tour with x-Japan would be even better. If you don't know who X-Japan is, check out their most recent videos "I.V" or "Rusty Nail". they're floating around here somewhere. And check out the video "foreign sands" with Toshi, Yoshiki and Roger Taylor.
While I completely agree that May is not a "thrash metal" guitarist, he has certainly touched on nearly every style of playing during his career with Queen and I don't think there's anything of x's that he couldn't handle. I also wouldn't catagorise X as simply a thrash metal band either other than early on and even then they played a variety of styles.
I saw this performance. This song, plus Under Pressure, Dragon Attack and Bo Rap made all the skeptical bitches think twice before criticising them for playing without Freddie. The difference between Queen and their contemporary rock bands is that they could actually PLAY and SING. Too bad musicians don't come around often.
