AY-OH! For one weekend, we’re inviting you to one of the most iconic concerts of rock n’ roll history. Experience #QueenRockMontreal in IMAX, January 18-21. www.imax.com/queen
Saw it tonight, what made it even more special is that the Montreal Forum where this was filmed is now turned into a complex with a cinema ... and a IMAX screen, so i was watching it on the big screen right at the location where it was produced 42 years ago !
If this IMAX presentation proves successful and it will, Queen should consider the Wembley (Kind of Magic Tour) show to be released next in IMAX with their Live Aid performance included as well as a gift for the fans. Now THAT would be extraordinary, sublime and majestic in every way.
@@dennisqueentourblog: Cyberworld 3-D (2000) had a segment that featured a Simpsons episode where Homer went "3-D in IMAX" from an episode titled "Treehouse of Terror VI" that was originally filmed & aired in 1:33:1... that same ratio as the beloved Live Aid in 1985.
@@merlinthomi Budapest was filmed in 35mm film, so its theoretically capable to be scanned in up to 4k or maybe even 6k. But as you can see, even the Montreal concert, which was filmed in 70mm (anamorphic), has a few blurry scenes. Mostly the problem were the lenses. Having a large format film with fine grain, like 35mm or 70mm is one thing, but it was often limited by some lenses (mostly the one with higher focal length or zoom lenses), which simply in the old days werent THAT bright and crisp, to be able to produce "perfect" images by todays means. Many lenses had chromatical aberrations like crazy and autofocus, if existing was based on Infrared, which was not accurate and fast at all, so they had to focus manually and if you know Freddie, you know that his fast movenments are not predicatble in any way😆 , but still manual focus is mostly done manually today in cine productions. Anyway!! A movie doesn't have to be perfect in the technical way, to be a good movie!! I mean look at it, its absolutely beautiful😍 It was the very best and most expensive way to record these shows back in the day and i'm stunned that they decided for this. So that we can see them in this breath taking quality over 40 years later... 🙏
I attended this show when I was 15 and sat above the camera in the opening shot. I’ve seen so many concerts and this still stands out as the best live performance ever. They were perfect, the crowd was nuts, and all was good in the world.
Saw it last night, going again tomorrow! 5 stars, highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ felt like we were there! Amazing sound and crystal clear images. Love it❤
Magic to know bro. I’ve just booked my seat to see it in Edinburgh Sunday night. Saw the gig before so I know it’ll be epic in those surroundings. Nice to know. 👍
@@MollyLGlascock I was in the Edinburgh IMAX at Fountain park . Now It’s absolutely blowing a gale & raining down crazy . Although Will you believe there was only exactly 11 people in the whole cinema venue 1. I had any seat I wanted & I sat in row G with only 2 other people in the whole row. I sang & was amazed by how clear the picture is. You can basically count Freddie’s chest hair one by one it’s that clear. 😂. The sound is fantastic and the intimacy of the show makes it worth while. It’s pure Rock N Roll vibes throughout. Only one thing I’d say is it was extremely expensive for 90 minutes though. Still great for a Queen fan. 👍✌️👍
@@gavinmillar461 you were exactly right! The first thing when everything was so clear is you could even see all of Freddie’s chest hair 😂😂I’ve watched this same concert on RU-vid a few times and it was definitely amazing to see it on the big screen with all the sound effects and clearer image! The tickets were expensive and there weren’t that many people but I ended up having a blast! Thank you for your comment because everything you said was true
I am sooooo there!!!!! I've seen Queen with Adam Lambert 3 times & those shows were absolutely amazing in every way. Queen with Fredde Mercury will be a dream come true. I hope that IMAX & Queen do more of these shows for the fans.
I went to see Queen with Adam Lambert, and it was an amazing experience. He never tried to take Freddie Mercury place or been the star! The band played amazing
😺WoW Amazing Fantastic Perfect! Urge every Queen fan to see it! Just arrived home from AMC IMAX San Diego and it felt like a live concert, photog is crisp and clear and sound is loud and rocking! soooo good! ❤
I’m going tonight, I can’t wait, i hear this IMAX makes you feel like your at a live concert in the first row, ,I’m so excited because, I wasn’t able to go see Queen in concert ,
Went January 21, 2024 sunday night to both 6pm and 8PM showings at Lakeside Village lakeland Florida. Brian May wore Nike Cortez on film before Tom Hanks did as Forrest Gump.
Not sure how many of you saw the Talking Heads IMAX remaster. It was absolutely incredible and slightly better than this one. But the Queen 12 channel audio on this is so great and worth seeing. I'm going to go see it again tomorrow. 6 out of 5. Would recommend for the audio difference from the OG alone...
That IMAX site is unusable. I cannot find a list of venues anywhere... it just shows times for a cinema in another country!! Is there a proper list somewhere?
I've often wondered at what resolution the original film was scanned at for this IMAX concert. Surely, it must've been at least 4K? I know the Blu-ray would be dropped to 1080p but I mean the showing at the actual virtual concert.
It"s not iconic, it's boring concert, the crowd looks uniinterested, they even forgot the lyrics in a song and Freddie's voice is not top notch. Wembley is better than this mediocre show. Save your money.
bro wembley is 70% overdubbed, brians guitar sounds shit, every 5 second you hear microphonic feedback and you cant hear the bass, but shitty reverb becouse of the sound settings in the stadium. on magic tour budapest is better, but top1 concert is montreal. they performed their best songs at the time
It’s obvious it’s not the live magic tour &. Budapest was miles better then for sound & the whole gig is way better than Wembley. It was 1981 so they do play every great song from there catalogue of music up to this point. This show is amazing though so clear you can feel immersed in the show. The sound is quality but just to see the band play so tight together is a special treat. I would say it was expensive for 90 minutes though even although I had the whole theatre to myself basically as only 10 other people in the whole cinema IMAX Fountain Park Edinburgh. It was blowing 60mph winds & heavy rain but the venue was empty. Still a pure Rock n Roll vibe though ✌️👍✌️
Just seen it , I enjoyed the cycle there in the wind, was good I would of enjoyed it more if it was 10 quid but 20 I think it's a bit expensive but it was very clear, I actually wish it was a bit louder, was slightly not loud enough for me. I thought somebody to love was the best performance on the night.
@@simonp7095 Yeah I’ve just saw it & I agree it’s loud but just not quite loud enough to make it sound like a gig, with the sound so clear I think that they should have & they could’ve done it. It’s a good experience though & I agree £25 was just a bit excessive. ✌️👍✌️
