Queen at their peak..no extra keyboard player just four great musicians. That version of Save Me is just wonderful..there will only be one Freddie Mercury for eternity
I saw it last night in Montreal, sold out, the sound and the pictures magnificent. RIP Freddie, one of the greatest entertainer We miss you John Thank you Roger & Brian
Greetings, Sir Brian. Just watched Queen Rock Montreal in Imax - seemed like Freddie was performing in person. Felt so real. Please keep releasing other live shows of Freddie. Die Hard fan of Freddie Mercury and of Queen from Auckland New Zealand. You guys are the best Rock band and Freddie is simply a Rock God. Much love ❤❤❤❤
I saw it last night in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Loved it! Thank you all who made this possible. And thanks Queen, so many years later, for this amazing show!
Saw it in Quebec City Friday night❤❤! What I’m most grateful is that I saw them last October in Toronto Queen’s & Adam Lambert!!!! I can’t get enough my fave group of all time! Bless you Brian & Roger! Thank you Adam Lambert for making Queen alive again! I’m a fan of you since American Idol! I’m blessed to have witnessed both this year🥰💋❤️🇨🇦
Usually,Montréal is always a very enthousiastic crowd ,as sir Brian just said ,but before the concert, the filmmaker asked the audience to be quiet in order to help the sound team and Freddy was not too happy with the response of the public. The film doesn't reflect the usual vibe of the city, that's the only negative point.Enjoy!
Thank you, Brian, Roger, and the team who brought this stunning concert in IMAX format. I've just watched it in Montreal, and I agree it was an emotional experience. The results are mindblowing. I'm sure I'm not the only one who shed a tear or two thinking where we were in 1981. We all love you dearly. ✌❤
Such a joy to listen to Brain who is a huge global superstar but also seems to be a very good communicator. I WAS at BOTH nights at the Montreal Forum back in November 1981, one of the truly amazing highlights of my concert life, enjoyed and loved every second of both nights. I had lived in Montreal but this time I was only visiting and was surprised to see that Queen was in town even if they were not touring. I saw them in 1978 at the other Forum in Inglewood California and that show was much more impacting in my life but this one was also great and had a lot more hits. If the IMAX version comes to Halifax, I will go see it. And IMAX is also by the way, Canadian. 😉
Rip Freddie!
Brian is so sweet. He made me listen to his speech on such a personal level, I joined the applause at the end, because it feels like he talked to me too.
I already owned the blu-ray of this, but I went to watch it yesterday: the picture restoration was astounding, as if the film was shot yesterday. The sound really helped pucked up all the minutias of John's play, of Brian's extra notes. I could notice things that are not so clear in the BD version. It was such a treat: thanks to Queen and their management for putting this out. I hope they'll pull the full Wembley concert soon
Went to the cinema yesterday and saw the concert. That was Queen.!!! The spontaneity, the power, the “merciless” transitions from one song to the other. The drums that the young Roger Taylor "hammered", the perfectly placed bass of a dancing John Deacon, the precise finger work of Brian May and of course Freddie Mercury on the piano, the guitar, who kept his colleagues together and drove them to peak performance He alsodemanded and gave from himself. John Deacon was so right to say goodbye.
I saw it in NYC last week. I'd been to loads and loads of rock concerts but somehow missed Queen. So I was thrilled to be able to see this show. It was SO worth it! Not only do you get the feeling of sitting with the audience in the arena, but as Brian said, you also get these incredible closeups that you'd never see otherwise. It was kind of an other-worldly experience. I want to see it again! I also hope this prompts bringing more live performances to IMAX. And let's start with Queen at Live Aid. 😄
So this is a completely new edit and sound remix? Well, I hope it get's released on Bluray then. Think that would then be the 5th time I've bought this!
So great to see Brian put the context of 1981 in his talk. The back stories and frame of reference. I've been debating whether to go see this but Freddie 5 stories tall would be magnificent.
I am so glad the IMAX of Queen was extended so that I was able to see this amazing film footage on January 30th, 2024, here in my hometown of Ontario, California IMAX theater (named for Ontario, Canada, the neighboring province to Quebec (Montreal). Thank you a million times over for this amazing footage of Queen in Montreal (and, for this video of Sir Brian May's introduction of the film). I appreciate that I saw the film before seeing this introduction because I was just fully immersed - and mesmerized by the intensity of my feelings for Queen! I needed tissues a few times!! AMAZING!!! Oh, how I miss Freddie 😪!! I was grateful for Queen during my high school years (1976-1980) as I escaped disco by focusing on Queen!!!! (and, a few other bands, lol). All the good vibes and love to Queen, everyone that made this film a reality and to my fellow fans!! God Bless!
God save the Queen!! 👑🌍⭐️🧚♂️💛🥰 Sois GRANDIOSOS!! ❤❤
I saw it last night, the whole concert is just amazing. Seeing the larger than life images are just wonderful and really say enough good things about it! Thank you!
"I´m not being constrained in my wardrobe. I will wear what the fuck I like." Freddie at 12:08. It´s fascination, how Brian imitates Freddis way of talking.
I wonder if this will get a disc release for home? Fingers crossed because this concert is the best performance I have seen of the band, they was on fire here!
i really hope they release this on blu ray cause the nearest imax is hour and half away and all the "local" imax start at like 8pm, annoyingly they are building a imax in my town but wont be ready till summer
I REALLY hope they do another weekend....one wasn't enough. The local IMAX told me they were not allowed to do matinee's. I could see most shows were jammed, (and that didn't include walk ups), so went to go to the late one last nite, Sunday. Went and my car wouldn't start (it has been freezing out, and passenger seat warmer was left on SIGH). My lil jumper was too cold to work, so by the time I warmed that up, and got car started, too late to make show (which was likely sold out by then). I WANT TO SEE THIS!!!! I know many that for one reason or another couldn't make this weekend. And why they chose dead of winter is even worse. PLEASE, add another weekend (preferably Spring, Summer or Fall lolol). I wonder how many couldn't get in the sold out theaters, even if their car batteries weren't being difficult?!
I definitely hear you. I saw it on thursday night, but almost didn't make it because of wind and snow!! I managed to get there just before it started and the concert was fabulous! It almost felt like you were there in Montreal 1981. But as you said, winter (especially January!) is not the best time.
I still say Brian, I think the “problem” with Hot Space isn’t the music or the arrangements, I think it’s the Order of the Songs on the album. I like Hot Space in fact I have TWO copies 😂❤.
While it would be great to go see this, I'll pass. I do have memories of seeing them on this tour at Madison Square Garden back in September 1980 though.
Hope you continue to review the albums after The Game, I’m not keen on side one of Hot Space, but side 2 is great. Put out the Fire and Las Palabras De Amour standing out
I bought this on VHS called We Will Rock You for $20 in the 1990's. Saw it on DVD borrowed from the public library. Seen it on RU-vid in Bluray. Now it's on IMAX admission is $20.
@@CS-tc4zyI went last night January 21, 2024 saw both shows 6pm and 8:30pm at Lakeside village lakeland Florida, but combined maybe over 30 patrons. NFL playoffs scheduled as well. The sound was terrific. VHS, DVD, Blu Ray, IMAX. What's next?
I have this on DVD already, with audio track of Roger and Brian..is this redone with discarded footage to match the music...or just remaster of original film?..no matter really...queen always we're quality..
The best thing that ever happened to Brian is that Freddie died and Brian got to be number one so why should Brian even give a thought to the one member of the band who showed loyalty to Freddie after he died?
@@debra2700 somebody got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning ... that's an awful statement ... John decided not to continue, Roger and Brian decided the opposite ... that has nothing to do with how much each was loyal or not to Freddie ... besides Brian has plenty on his plate without Queen anyway
@@jeanlawley6483 I stand by my statement. John decided not to continue because it broke his heart to lose Freddie and Brian and Roger went on to trash Freddie in that horrible movie that 90% fiction about Freddie's life and then went on to call Adam Lambert a gift from God and the best singer they have ever heard. Brian is right where he wanted to be all along.
brian, it would have been much better to restore the hyde park and earl's court 77 concerts or march 74 rainbow or houston 77 or even paris and hammersmith 79 ! the audience is not enthusiastic enough in montreal 1981 and the audio is has been overdubbed when it should be raw and organic !
The Show of the Morumbi Stadium, was mucho better, Queen never play tô tão thousand people with transmission of the rádio and tv livrando 20 or 30 thousand people waiting by the Stadium out ,in 20 and 21/03/1981, without internet the tickets sold out on the First day.
0:25 That "dude" is sooooo wel prepared he needs a bloody clipboard to read everything of it because he can't remeber 8 lines? 🙄🙄🤦♂🤦♂👎👎👎👎 very professional .
Sad that people, in 2024, still haven't figured out how to turn their cameras on their sides so the videos fill the entire screen, instead of having black bars on each side.
Sun City to Live Aid ... Rock n Roll as Cabaret. Too late for Glam. Exposed during Punk. Bandwagon woulda been a better name. Early Mott The Hoople Tour Queen was amazing, up to Killer Queen. After that it was embarrassing. It's necrophilia at this point, John was the only one with integrity and called it a day!
