Yes you mist the real Hampden the first Hampden is the bowlimg club SFA have bought the staduim now Queens Park will now play at lesser Hampden beside it Cathkin Park was the 2nd Hampden where Third Lanark played

They are also the team that brought "the passing game" to the world!......back then it wasn't long before it became the way all Scottish clubs played......and, eventually, after playing the Scottish national side for the first time as well as some Scottish clubs who were now ALL playing that way, England adopted the Scottish style...up to that time the English way was to dribble until you were beaten, passing the ball was not part of their game...a few clubs, initially in the north of England, started to poach Scottish players...taking them south to become professional and teach their teams the passing game...they were called Scotch Football Professors...anyway, that's a very brief outline of how the game that the whole world plays today was born.

@@FootyAdventures - They are indeed the oldest mate. Founded in 1867. Also were the only fully amateur team in the top 4 Scottish leagues until 2019. They have played in two English FA cup finals, 1884 and 85 and have won more Scottish cups than any other team apart from Rangers or Celtic (the last being in 1893). In addition, they are said to have been the first team ever to play football as a "passing game".

@@bobsteele9581 Yup, QP introduced the "passing game" (basically how everyone, worldwide, now play) to other Scottish teams and their players...some of whom were then transferred, some said "stolen", to English teams who wanted to follow suit...it wasn't long before, because of emigrating footballers, the "passing game" was being played all over the world...but it was created in Queens Park.

@@FootyAdventures When you look through the gates of Lesser Hampden the small whitewashed building to the right at the far side of the pitch is the original farmhouse that stood on the land when Queens Park bought the surrounding land, they used it as a changing room and is still in use which makes it the oldest football building in the World still in use.

The old Hampden was cut down in size by then. The North Stand went in 1982 and the Celtic end terracewas substantially reduced in size. I was at the England game in 1980 but we got beat. 1973 was the last year it was allowed to have more than 100.000 There is a whole Scotland v Czechoslovakia World cup qualifier in RU-vid. There was only 85.000 there but find the first Scotland goal and there is bedlam for 3 mins. It's not until there is a lull in the play that you realise how incredibly noisy it was
