Remember that recording scene in the movie..freddie kept making him repeating that part in the song...Roger himself got an underrated badass high pitch vocal.
Roger Taylor doesn’t get enough credit for how powerful his vocals are. This performance proves that. He did all of the high range vocals on Bohemian Rhapsody.
Jerry McGaghey I watch every reaction to this performance just to see who gives a Roger credit. Of course, you’re going to notice Freddie’s amazing-ness. And rightfully so. But this shows that he wasn’t Queen, he was a part of Queen. Even vocally, if it had just been Freddie, it wouldn’t have been nearly as good. Roger’s voice (and ability to sing while DRUMMING) is fantastic, and this is the best video to hear and see that.
Jerry McGaghey My two daughters who have fallen in love with Queen..and think I’m pretty cool to have seen them in concert in their prime..named our new car “Roger” after Roger Taylor. We are going to put his name and some drumsticks on the back 👍🏻 🥁
Roger is incredible and it shows so well in this video. If you watch Wembley 86 (the Saturday concert) the amount of work he does with singing and drumming is mindblowing. He is so essential to the Queen sound and I always like to see people giving him the credit and kudos he deserves. Rogercam is really worth watching too if you love this guy like I do.
No headphones, no backing track, no autotune, just 4 of the most brilliant musicians LIVE! All 4 wrote #1 hits. Not even the Beatles could claim that! Great reaction!!! Queen, never to be matched live! Just thankful so much of Queen was filmed in 35mm!! Freddie Mercury: Piano, Lead Vocals Dr. Brian May: Guitar, back up vocals Roger Taylor: Drums, back up vocals John Deacon: Bass Guitar
And Dr Brian was a pretty decent pianist! I loved John playing keys on his "You're My Best Friend." And his lip syncing on a few videos! Oh yeah and that little bit of John playing drums in the One Vision video!
There's not many bands that can sound this perfect and together in a live concert and not a studio track. Freddie and the gang were SO infused with power and talent that it still literally takes my breath away
Queen is not even in my top 10 all time artists in terms of general music, yet I still rate Freddie Mercury the greatest live performer of all time, and it's not even close.
Everyone in this band was extraordinary. How many bands have a drummer who can sing well? It's just ridiculous that people this talented all came together and melded into the perfection that is Queen.
Queen is my favorite band and I believe the best band in history. I adore Mercury, with his four octave voice, and energy...But the most interesting person imo is May on the guitar. Great guitarist and human being. Could have explored space even if he wasn't in a band. I think what makes Queen great is that bands don't often last too long in the music industry, particularly with four completely different, and complimenting personalities. But their character is what kept them together, I think in part because they were so well educated, and they were more sophisticated emotionally than most bands.
Totally agree! They worked hard to achieve greatness and they all were so talented in so many aspects. There will NEVER be another band to rival Queen and NEVER EVER be another Freddie Mercury! Legend ♥️
Music is art, art is subjective, and I guarantee that there is an appreciator of art, on this planet, that has a "better" live performance that includes zeros members of the band, featured above. 2 years later...try again...
True. Dr Brian May has a Phd in Astro Physics. John Deacon a 1st class Hons Degree in Electrical Engineering. Roger Taylor a Degree in Biology and was studying to be a Dentist before giving it up to be in Queen full-time. Freddy had a Dip in Arts (Design, I think)
jim Nicosia two bandmembers with doctorates.. The drummer was a dentist & lead guitarist as an astro physicist and the bass player was in electronics engineer. ❤️
Your facial expressions gave Queen and the song justice! Awesome reaction! One of my favorites! Jamal loved this song so much he didn't even bother to pause it for commentary because this performance moved him so much!
That really tells you what talent is when the live version sounds better than the studio version. They are the champions of the world!!! You had the right video man. I like your reactions they seem real and not pre planned
Queen live were always better than the studio versions - try listening to the hammer to fall version at live aid and then the studio version straight after, it gives you whiplash 😂
i am 60 years old from montreal and yes i was at that concert the best concert i ever seen .try to impress a girl and it work .queen is my favorite band , the diversity of their music , freddy vocals, brian may guitar, john deacon base think under pressure and another one bites the dust, and roger taylor on drums and back vocal one of the best rock band ever.p.s. no autotune.

NOBODY ever felt they didn't get their money's worth and then some when they went to a Queen show! Besides being a phenomenal singer Freddie was an incredible performer. Roger, Brian and John too. And yeah, sometimes only dogs can hear Roger's vocals!
Jagger? Plant? ... Jagger at least matches for charisma and Plant was a better vocalist as well as being a great front man .... Mercury sure had the charisma though in spades for sure. Opinions
@@Mark13091961 Jagger and Plant are great singers but Freddie was next level. Not because of his vocals or charisma but because unlike the later he put his soul on the stage. And those who think different are just fooling themselves
Not only were they musically talented, but they were one of the most educated bands as well! Freddie had a degree in graphic art and design and designed the Queen logo with all their astrological signs on it. Brian May, or Dr Brian May has a Phd in Astrophysics and has worked with NASA. Also the guitar he is playing is called the Red Special and he built it with his dad (who was an engineer) when he was a teenager out of odds and ends such as an old mantelpiece, a tabletop, some buttons and a knitting needle! It's still his main guitar to this day. Roger Taylor who started out studying dentistry and ended up with a degree in Biology. And last but never least John Deacon who has a degree in engineering and built an amp for them out of bits he found in a skip! You should check out White Queen live at Hammersmith Odeon 1975. The way Brians guitar and Freddies piano intertwine is spine tingling.
Lfc Rules - When you talk about instruments intertwining, listen to Freddie's piano and Deaky's bass in Millionaire Waltz. The bass is a complex masterpiece.
Freddie Mercury's voice is so amazing it makes me cry. So much passion. Which is very rare in today's music. Where everything is autotuned. QUEEN is not autotuned
I was lucky enough be at the very last concert that Freddie performed with Queen. Knebworth Park, England, August 1986. That was one heck of a performance!!
These videos make me feel lucky to have been around at a time when this music was being created, when we were listening to this stuff everyday. When I watch your channel I am taking a musical trip back to my youth.
"On a scale from 1 to 10 where do you put that?" "I'll put it - " *SMACK* "Don't be asking me no stupid questions like that. It's off the scale." Love it!
in my option you ask on a scale from 1 to 10 where do you put that there is only one answer you can not rate any song from queen from 1to 10 because that would be comparing wine to crystal that starts at least 100.00 a bottle or maybe a BMW to a Bentley
There's still plenty of people writing their own lyrics now, and even back in the 60's there were pop artists who had people write their songs for them.
Dolly Parton wrote a lot of other people’s music. Same with Willy Nelson. “I Will Always Love You” was written by Dolly to Willy to thank him for their writing career together
I've been listening to this for 42 years. It never gets old. Much love to you for having a listen. You felt it. I love to see someone feel the music. Thank you. ❤️
Totally loved your reaction! I could watch this a thousand times and it just doesn't get old!! I would love to see you react to Queen One Vision live at Wembley 1986, or Under Pressure live at Wemblley. So many good ones!
Love watching your reactions, thanks for what u do , Roger Taylor on drums & vocals , John Deacon on bass , Dr. Brian May on guitar & vocals & of course , Fabulous Freddie, the voice! Love it! Peace out!
That's what was so great (well, a LOT of things were so great, but in particular) about the best of the classic rock bands. Every song took you on a journey.
That was the right video haha. This is my all time favorite live performance. Not just from Queen, but out of all performances. Freddie is amazing. There was was and there never will be anyone like him. So special ❤❤❤ Imagine if he was still here. Oh, and it's Brian May on the guitar, John Deacon on bass and Roger Taylor on drums 👍🏻 Great reaction.
Fantastic! This concert never gets old. You've got Freddy (Mercury, Duh), Rodger (Taylor, Drums) and Brian (May, Lead guitar) losing their minds for most of it, and then there's Deaky. For a lot of queen fans, John Deacon is there favorite member. He was always everyone's little brother and he's just standing there doing his little dance and playing the absolute piss out of that bass. I freaking love Queen. I wish I could have seen them, but I'm just a little too young.
Freddie Mercury was simply an amazing human being. His Amazing and powerful voice has influenced so many singers today. He had an incredible stage presence and Energetic passion that was intoxicating. Miss Him Tremendously 😭
For any artists who want to know how to make their songs sound way better LIVE than in the studio...... TAKE NOTES!!! THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT!!! In this clip alone, Freddie could undoubtedly be classed as an early version of “The Greatest Showman”??? I think so but please..... Feel free to disagree if you want people🤘😆👌 This was freakin’ astonishing 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I have heard this a million times and it still brings tears to my eyes. Not only because it's so good but because it's so sad that Freddie died so young and the world has missed out on almost 28 years of beautiful music he could still be making. Freddie was a pure genius. Nobody will ever touch him.
Oh, you're a Queen fan now. How could you not be, they're fantastic. Freddie was an absolute legend (rest in peace). Please react to Dragon Attack from the same concert.... FIRE!
I'd like to thank you for giving this awesome band some props. It took the talent of all 4 band members to create this 1 awesome and "beautifully over the top" band. We need more of some of the legends re-introduced in to the mix. Thank you again. You're reaction was excellent!
For another awesome live Queen video you must, must react to Love of My life- live from Tokyo. The audience's reaction to Freddie and his reaction to them is just priceless. Freddy and Queen were loved internationally. I mean if Japanese people can sing the lyrics to their songs that really says something. ps Jamal you look so handsome in this video. Love the outfit...Ms B
@@Ciderquoffer How awesome that you got to see them! Same here , I recently watched Hungarian Rapshady concert and 1981 Argentina concert. Heard "Need your loving Tonight " I didn't know Queen did that one!
@@michellemoss4635 That's one of their underrated songs. I used to play The Game album in '84 with this song so much driving around the suburbs of Sydney as a young man with my small beat box in the back seat (no car speakers - crappy car!) Now, in '19, I still sing it in the shower!
My young son just discovered another bites the dust. He rocks out in the backseat. George Michael’s rehearsal version of this dong in tribute is remarkable too.
Best live concert I've ever seen...and I've seen them all..Zeppelin..the Stones...the Who...but the strength...the professionalism...the voice. ..the range...the you're the first audience we've ever played for.. Freddie Mercury is no doubt the real deal...the best I've ever seen....
Good reaction, to one of the greatest live recordings people will ever hear, no auto tune here, have a listen to save me, from the same concept in Montreal, Brian, the guitar player, plays piano in it, whilst wearing his guitar for later in the song, vocals are fantastic. Another great example of the musicality of Queen is white queen, live at Hammersmith odeon, it's from 1975, so their look and sound is very different, but I think it's one you'll need to keep pausing as I think it gets blocked in North America, but very much worth listening to, you could always put a pause in the edit 😉👍
freddie like: "it's 1981! let's record it in HD!!!" - guy: "what sound you want? we can do 5.1 dolby surround!" - freddie: "no! make it 7.1" ... so they did! *true_story
Tho George Michael was AMAZING on this song (An I think Freddy would of loved it) at the Queen Remember Tribute concert.... Freddy is just the A+ cherry on top when it comes to Rock voices.
Brother, you just watched ONE SONG!!! Can you imagine an entire concert? If you haven't, you've GOT to go to a Rock Concert. There's nothing like it! 😁🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼🔥
Queens performances just send you to another world of energy. You could be feeling sad, happy, mad, or lazy, but when you watch these guys take over the stage, your mood just changes COMPLETELY. You feel that energy through your screen for reaaaaaaaal.
They have to go on. This keep's Freddie Alive. You know when they perform today, with a guest singer, they flood the audience with a huge screen showing video footage of Freddie. How can you knock that? They are loyal to Freddie's memory and Brian May wants to make sure Freddie lives on as long as possible. I commend him for this. You can not find a more loyal friend. None of them need money; Deacon even walked away -- he doesn't need the money. So it is not money, it is loyalty. I hope they keep it up for as long as their bodies can physically do it. And I hope they can continue to find singers capable of singing Freddie's song -- hard job to do. Freddie was denied proper recognition when he was alive. At that time too many people had too many hang ups on what they would accept. There music video "I've Got to Break Free" where they dressed in drag, caused a lot of Americans to turn from them. How stupid is that. I personally appreciated the artistry of that video. But I grew up watching British humor with Month Python and Benny Hill, so I understood the humor and appreciated it. Only endured me more to the band. But today, Freddie is getting the level of recognition that he deserves and it is thanks to Brian and Roger and RU-vid. So I hope Jeanette stops getting upset. We will get no more from Freddie so we must squeeze everything we can from what he gave us.
Queen is one of the bands where every member is in the top echelon of their trade, along with The Who, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Cream and a few others....
Supergroup? They were together for only 2 years. 4 albums. And less than 10 high charting songs. Might as well add the traveling wilburys to this list. Or. Ringo starr and his allstar hand who jack bruce also played in. Lol. Cream is not in the class of Queen, The Rollings Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Rush, The Eagles, Pink Floyd , Yes or The Beatles. All 3 of creams members are great musicians but cream doesnt have the longevity to be listed with those other groups. Just sayin.
Not surprising that Freddie’s favourite artist was Aretha Franklin. The beginning intro on the piano sounds like he was going to start singing gospel. Just love it.
One of the things I most enjoy about your reactions is seeing the emotion of a song play out over your face. You're an awesome human being, Jamel. Keep rocking.
Almost literally, because this song was inspired by his love of Arethea Franklin's voice and gospel music. He said if he did a duet with her it would just be her singing and him saying "Ahhh!" at the end!
Probably the finest live performance you will ever see. Faultless, just faultless. I feel very privileged to have seen Queen live twice. As good, if not better, than in the studio.
In person, when an entire arena is stomping & singing along, you just have to hope that the place doesn't shake apart. On the way home I'd actually feel my body buzzing.
Possibly the greatest individual live performance of a single song by the band. Simply breathtaking in every respect. Supreme vocals all round, power, emotional content & charisma. I have seen this video over & over. An exceptional piece of art. Kudos to Roger Taylor on the drums for phenomenal backing vocals whilst delivering a powerhouse of a performance.
