I saw Queen in concert in 1977 in San Diego California. The opening band didn't show up so Queen made up for the no-show by playing for three hours, best concert I've ever been to. And I've been to hundreds of rock concerts.

That's how I loved Queen. Always willing to take a risk, but with Freddie Mercury on stage where was there a risk, never knowing exactly, the audience joins in, likes the (new) performance of a song. That all became a thing of the past with the retirement of John Deacon and Freddie Mercury's death.

I worked at the ticket office for Wembley back then for Harvey Goldsmith and despite a postal application rule (no internet or sites back then) we had half a million applications at 14.50 a ticket,enough for seven nights.I remember the band wanted another but Freddie needed a rest and they got Knebworth instead which numbered over a million,we had to sift through them so thanks internet .
