That was amazing. Been waiting for this to surface for so long! And as with "Seven Seas Of Rhye" and "Good Old Fashioned Loverboy" they performed a specially re-recorded version of the song! So many differences to the album / single version! Why the band didn't include this on any of their releases I don't know. We did get the audio for Seven Seas on a slideshow on a past DVD. I thinks it's time they put out the definitive Video set featuring everything - all the promo's in all alternate versions, plus any TV etc. We need more. It's been a while since that "New Of The World" set and they missed an opportunity with that! Should have had the whole live video from the Texas show. Amazing alternate CD though!
@@andyw.3048 Me too. I just watched Argentina 1981 TV broadcast on here and have seen a number of full shows specially remastered and any of them could be released as is! A boxset would be good of that kind of thing.
@@kurgan46 Although it is a homemade record, it is a treasure. Hopefully TOTP has this historical record archived and it can be restored in HD in the future. 😍
Not sure if the other performances of the song are somewhere in the archives, but this one will always be a gem due to the fact that the band mimed to an alternate mix of the song ;)
@@potato-ed3qq I have uploaded the FOTW footage shown a SIS, it was recorded by GinjaNinja and I added some audio ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W2tP2k6fY-M.html
Idk if I’m going crazy, but I couldn’t sworn there was a 4th TOTP performance of “Killer Queen” that has Deacy playing a Rickenbacker bass. Do you by any chance know about it?
@hoangleminh1535 Queen were no. 20 on 30.1.75. This transfer comes from a VCR recording that contains all the performances from that broadcast. The 16.1.75 performance of NIH is a completely different one, and it was also repeated on 13.2.75.
There is no siren sound of Brian May's overdubs for the same reason radio stations do not play music with sirens as a rule of thumb - especially when you're dealing with a public broadcaster like BBC.
This was a guitar that the BBC had on hand that several artists used for their mimed performances on ‘The Old Grey Whistle Test’ and ‘Top of the Pops’. You can see Peter Tosh playing this identical sunburst Gibson Les Paul Deluxe in the 1973 mimed performance on ‘The Old Grey Whistle Test’ with several small red circular stickers all over the guitar. I guess the BBC just kept it on hand in case an act showed up without a guitar to mime a performance?
