Love how John made use of the full range of the instrument 😍 until I became obsessed with queen I'd never realised that the bass has all these different colours and timbres - so now I love watching videos like yours to help me pick out and appreciate bass lines - maybe one day I'll even consider giving the instrument a go!
Thanks! I started playing 1 note that important to the song imo, then i played it more, and improvised it myself (actually just adding 3 note for the choruses lmao)
What means "best"?? He was a great rock player, BUT in terms of geniality, there's hundreds of other players, in other styles, that really rocks in all kinds of techniques and also creativity
I agree completely that on the original recording you can hardly hear ANY detail of the bass. When I compared it, I could hardly hear any of what Tom is playing here which sounds really tuneful, in fact I think it is more intricate than the original! It's a great bass line to learn, but wish the score was at the top, as mentioned elsewhere because the "timeline" obscures most of the notes when you pause the track...Many thanks Tom...your bass lessons are the best...I've played them hundreds of times...
Thank you so much for making this. One problem is at 1:25, the 16th note figure was played wrong. Your transcription with the rest on beat one is correct though.
