Queenie Jenkins is a 25-year-old Jamaican British woman living in south London, straddling two cultures and slotting neatly into neither. Yes!! I was just thinking about this and how I wouldn't mind seeing a screen adaption of 'Blackout.' I imagine it being a modernized take on a made for tv movie titled 'Love Songs (1999)' I remember watching growing up.

It's that white man's belief that she's angry which illustrates that he doesn't understand her. It's not that she's actually angry, it his misconception of her and what she deals with that he perceives as anger. It's not saying she's an angry black woman and that's not the story being told. She also isn't living in the projects, she works for a national newspaper🙄😒. This is based on the book, if you don't know the book just say so, don't make up a narrative.

Exactly, most shows based off books don't nail the tone or details. I get movies not having enough time from a book being that source. However TV shows get significant more time, and episodes. Yet most fail miserably due to changes being made by writers, directors, and ultimately studios themselves.

@@desij.7487 I really enjoyed it. It was an emotional rollercoaster because you can honestly feel for Queenie. I don't want to give anything away, but I recommend the book. It also includes some important (and serious) topics that one can think about during and after reading the book :-)

I read the book 📕 ❤! Sorry, I don’t remember the title but I remember the details of the book. It was a different read but good! Now, I will be looking for what was left out of the movie since I read the book 📕. I am excited to view the movie.
