Honestly, Catra was such a well-written, in depth villain I’ve examined. I imagine that she was pressured do much to do things that would make Shadow Weaver finally see her as what she can do. Not being discarded, not being manipulated. I also imagine that Catra wanted Adora’s attention and that she thought this was the one way to get it. _i mean before I start to write for one hour i’m going to stop_
I've seen a lot of people hate on Glimmer and call her "annoying" and such, but I really enjoy Glimmer as a whole. Most people don't seem to understand that she was an only child so she was indeed spoiled, and she was reckless. But that was when she had Angella, when she knew her mom would be there to take care of her and help her when she did something stupid; although at the same time she felt like her mom didn't care enough to listen, it was obvious that all the reckless shit she did was to get her mother's attention, because Angella was always so busy ruling Glimmer felt as if she was being ignored and that upset her. Her character really began to develop after Angella passed away, because she fully realized how much she needed her mom, and once the time went on she also realized just how much her mom put up with and had to do as Queen. Yeah, she called it boring a lot but that was because she wanted to be a fighter, wanted to be on the front lines. Her character definitely matured after her mother died and she became Queen; yes it took time, but nothing happens over night. People need to understand that Glimmer, while 18-19 when her mom died, was still mentally a teen. She had it in her that she'd never be Queen because her mother would never age. It took a lot for her to mature, yes, but people need to understand that stuff like that takes time. She can be seen as annoying, but that's because she was only 17-19 and in her mind, had no reason to act any different throughout the first few seasons until Queen Angella died. All in all, I personally love Glimmer.
@@plantwitch1773 yes, it was very enjoyable to see how she grew throughout the show. I absolutely love her character as a whole. She's one of my favorite characters.
Ikr! And not all only children are spoilt, I imagine it can be really lonely having no siblings especially when your mother's so busy with other people that aren't even her children. Like, not even someone you love, just a bunch of faceless people. And since Angelo's was literally immortal, it must've felt like Glimmer would forever be caged. Then her mother left and entered a world way she may as well have been dead and left Glimmer behind. And then her friends started treating her differently. The war escalated and she, despite being an adult, wasn't ready for the world because her mother would outlive her anyway. And then suddenly she had to try and win a war. Then she was *kidnapped by freaking aliens, for god's sake,* and found the only person she could relate to was the person who was pretty much the reason her mother was gone. I definitely thought she was annoying at first, but when I went back and really watched it, I realised how strong a character she was. People really need to give her a chance, like with Katara from ATLA. People make fun of her being sad that she lost her mother, which is just pretty gross, despite it being fiction. Props to the writers, I got all the feels
good analysis 👏 glimmer is my favorite she ra character precisely bc of her character arc and I was very surprised/disappointed to find out the fandom dislikes her so much
Putting that scene with Shadoweaver stepping behind her to coincide with the lyrics “Devil on the shoulder where the angel used to be” was smart since Shadoweaver is evil and replaced Angela who is like an angel
I haven't reached this part of the show... What I know is, I hope it's some sort of scheme she's playing against the Shadow Weaver. My beautiful Glimmer surely wouldn't genuinely believe in SW, would she ?
I hope that they have more scenes together since they are trapped in space now and hopefully they will talk things through since they both have been through so much and because they both are very similar to each other!
Jeez this is amazing!!! The scenes matched so well with the lyrics. My favourite part was having shadow Weaver as the 'devil' and her mum as where the angels used to be - absolutely genius and brilliant idea!! It kind of made it hurt more than it already did, well done.
Still love Catra despite my frustrations with her over everything she's done but still want that Redemption Arc w/ bittersweet ending for her and Catradora endgame.
Since both of them kinda lost both there best Friends, kinda hoping they bond over that. I mean catra literally saved glimmer in the finally, catra probably could of gotten out of it herself but she didn’t. And the look at end I feel is like “so we allies now?” From both of them😂 I’m hyped for season 5
"There's nothing to lose when you're lonely and friendless" Me: oh shit.... "So my only interest is showing this princess That I am the queen And my reign will be endless" Me: *OOOOOH SHIIIIT*
@@JabamiLain unfortunately yes, i mean she has many fans (like myself), but compared to other characters she is the one that gets the most hate (apart from villains obviously)
@@juliaboracoradin5002 awww ! That's a shame... Then again, maybe I shouldn't be her fan. I have the nasty habit of making my favorite cutie pie characters suffer in my fanfics. Speaking of which, why is almost every fanfic of this show a reversal of Adora and Catra in the She-ra role, or uses "One-Man", or whatever that anime is called ? Seriously, where's the creativity ? There are SO many other stories you could write about in this universe ? I, for example, am already planning my fanfic saga of this show.

Not bad, but Glimmer went through so much and so much of it was like what happened to Catra, but paralleled. Adora and Angelo's were the angels, Hordak and Shadow Weaver the devils, and both were hurt by both of them, though Glimmer never trusted Hordak, and Catra was literally the reason Angella is gone, so you can hardly say she suffered as much as Glimmer in that category. But then Catra was manipulated. And both were shown to be innocent originally, and both lost it due to being forced to the front of the line. Both became obsessed with power, though Catra a little more, because they'd been hurt so much. Agree to disagree, I guess ;)
