JiU was voted "The Most Beautiful Face in KPop 2021" with 12.7M votes on Kings Choice. Siyeon is a rock chick. She has 3 beautiful tattoos and she doesn't hide them. And she's one of the best vocalists on KPop. Siyeon and Yoohyeon are the two vocal powerhouses in the group, while the rest are amazing vocalists, too. And they are all top class dancers. But beyond music, behind the scenes, these girls have the most fun and amazing personalities and deep love for each other, which makes it easy to fall in love with all of them.

They are one of the most interesting groups in k pop. My personal favorite. They have so much content for you to check out. Everytime you check something out you'll be surprised.

Welcome to the Dreamworld :D Dreamcatcher really is something else, no question. Minx is the former group of 5 of the 7 members, they had more of a cute concept and failed to get a lot of attention due to strong competition. Thankfully their (awesome) company did not give up on them but chose to give them another chance. They added two new members (Gahyeon and Handong) and went for a more "horror" themed concept with strong rock influences in the music. You were spot on with putting names to faces!

Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip your spine out when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 They are outdoing themselves here once again. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's adlibs is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done. About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. They noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you". The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". And I didn't even touch on the references to the movie "Us" yet, there is so much going on. The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "Your face turns blue, blue. Your expression is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. Dreamcatcher are clearly not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects, and they do it masterfully here - again. For me, this is more than just pop, it is art.

actually this song is a lot different from their other releases! they do a lot of genres but their heaviest is probably endless night and no more. i think you might like chase me (their debut song) but as others have recommended you should react to their trilogy which goes from Scream, Boca, and Odd Eye :) seriously great music.. i only became a fan of them in October but they’re seriously becoming my favorite girl group (sorry for any English mistakes LOL)

Well well well... Some fun facts to share... BEcause is meant to be a summer song which in the Kpop industry, it s meant to be fun, cheery and bubbly.... unless the group is Dreamcatcher and it is their take on a "summer" song which is based on a Korean tradition where you tell ghost stories or visit haunted places so that you can feel the "chills" to fight the summer heat. Officially the song unravels a story of an obsession and longing for love. The capitalise BE in the title is used in context as the Hanja character 悲’ (‘BE’) as they sound alike and the word meaning sadness, and the title BEcause could be loosely translate as the cause of sadness, and paired with the line BEcause I like you or BEcause I love you, the sadness is caused by liking or loving someone. Also, the whole creepy toxic vibe is link to the choreography where there is a scene of someone choking another, and the lyrics about "forever mine, even your breath" and then "your face blue...like an ocean view" kind of reflect someone being strangled until the fact turns blue etc. Also, the MV plot theme has another layer that borrowed quite a bit of plot elements from the horror movie "Us" by Jordan Peele where doppelgangers who were forced to live underground depraved of the "finer" things and are trying to are trying to take over their "privileged" above ground counterparts...won't go into much details as it would be better if you watch the movie yourself if you haven't). There are a lot of details in the MV that point to this such as the movie "Us" which has scenes depicting a hall of mirror, someone being captured and replaced, the carnival; similarly the choreography also uses the movie themes such as the doppelgangers holding hand in a chain, the slight side to side head tilts, ending pose of the center member which two hand on her face, mirrored choreography etc.. There are also a few easter eggs for the doppelgangers concept such as the MV is 3:13 minute long (coincidence? I think not) , and that the opening scene and ending scene has the members in completely different outfits (with the ending outfit more whimsical), as well as the completely drain symmetrical hourglass at the end indicating that at some point, the doppelgangers replaced their original counterpart. More impressively, musicality, it plays into the theme of opposite doppelgangers where there is a two part chorus (whimsical and cute, and a more rock follow up) and two part bridge (soft vocals followed up by a deep spoken rap with atmospherically vocals behind) trying to show this mirror duality.

Mynx was their former group, bubble gum pop, lol. Weird seeing that after Dreamcatcher. Not bad though, they pull it off.

You seem to have them down well enough. Handong is the blonde who sang first and had on the pink long dress. Yoohyeon is the bkonde with the pearl necklace and bangs. People sometimes tend to confuse Jiu with Yoohyeon (they actually don't look that alike imo) and Yoohyeon with Handong (even their moms have been confused between them) people also confuse SuA and Siyeon (again don't look alike at all but have vaguely similar features i guess). Siyeon was the one with the burgundy red hair as well as the bob, yea she has 3 tattoo that we know of; one on the back of her neck, her shoulder and a big one on her back going upto just under her arm. Dami has 2, a butterfly on her elbow and one on the shoulder blade and Yoohyeon has 2, one on her ribs and a 4 leaf clover on her forearm. Dami and Siyeon actually dropped a cover of Hyuna and Dawn's Ping Pong recently and yea Siyeon does tend to wear crazy stuff. Handong was absent from Boca and Scream and the related albums due to being stuck in China during covid but she has both vocal and choreo parts in all those songs for concerts and live performances.

Siyeon collecting more wives even when they're dudes. Dreamcatcher makes their own lane with rock/metal but they are so talented they do a lot more than that. Didn't see it mentioned so I had to mention they play around with drum and bass, trap, jazz, reggae, rock ballads, full ballads... their vocals and presence hasn't seen its limit yet (songs respectively: And There Was No One Left, Red Sun, Jazz Bar, July 7, Deja Vu a VERY popular one, Dear or Trust Me). They tend to make covers into their own songs. And have self-made m/v's that show a totally different side of the members than the untouchable vibes you get in title track m/v's.

Yeaaaaaaaah Dreamcatcher! Subscribed for DC but also you other reactions. Just watched your other reactions and you are great at learning quickly members names and spotting nice things! It doesn’t seem like anyone answered your question, so I’ll answer it. 5/7 Dreamcatcher members were part of the five-member girl group Minx. Minx failed to gain recognition because they were riding the trend in an oversaturated industry. Because the group’s CEO trusted in the talents and skills of the group’s members, he redebuted them with an anti-mainstream concept and sound so that they could stand out. This approach, while risky, helped the group carve out a niche audience and gradually make it to the top of the midtier. Dreamcatcher is the most successful redebut that kpop has seen so far. And yes, Gahyeon’s cat lips are adorable. The growth in confidence Gahyeon and Handong got over the years is unmistakable. Gahyeon became the ultimate bias wrecker from Scream and beyond and Handong’s savage elegance has become especially radiant.

Dreamcatcher is a unique group in the kpop industry. They are original and do not follow Korean cultural standards. They have tattoos, they dye their hair different colors at each comeback, they are chaotic, they talk nonsense, their songs bring criticism, they mix rock elements in your songs.

This was so much fun to watch! You are all of us obsessing over Dami’s voice 😂 But if you think that’s the biggest plot twist of the century, wait until you see their off-stage personalities. You might be even more surprised. MINX is indeed their former group! All the members except Gahyeon and Handong were in it in 2014-2015 and it very much had the typical girl group sound from that time.They were still great vocalists even back then, and at some point you should definitely check out their songs Why Did You Come to My Home and Love Shake, but ultimately they didn’t stand out from the crowd in the market. It’s sad that the girls went through a really dark time because of the disbandment, but I think they and all of us are grateful in the long run, because now we have Dreamcatcher and they get to be themselves and do music they truly feel passionate about. You also commented on how piercing Siyeon’s (pronounced with a “sh” btw!) eyes are, and you’re not alone in thinking so! Each of the members uses an animal to describe themselves and fittingly, Siyeon’s is a wolf, partially because of that wolf-like gaze. She’s got a deadly elegance. I saw you've already done a marathon reaction to the Dystopia trilogy and can't wait to watch it! Siyeon is straight up serving *power* in Odd Eye; same with Dami in Scream and Boca (and everything, actually). I also have to throw a shout out for you to react to their b-sides, because they cover a huge range of genres and really give you a feel for their outstanding versatility. They do a lot of special clips and performance videos for them too! when it comes to overall stats as an idol group... dreamcatcher literally has a 100% haha like what do we want? - dance - vocals - rap - consistent and unique concept - entertainment and variety shows - fan content - official discography - quality merchandise - leadership evidence - self made credits and artistic involvement (choreography, lyrics, etc.) - friendship between members - friendships with other idols Yea they got it all at 10/10. It's just absurd how they have not yet become one of the top active groups with their impressive resume.

They love being friendly and have an outstanding invite to any idol who wants to connect to reach out any way they can XD If their promotions have overlapped with a group, you can kind of assume they became friendly and have exchanged numbers. Their concept might be creepy, but the girls are very friendly beagles

Also, their fandom (InSomnia) basically exists of queer women and guys ;-) Quite a few of them have tattoos. Dami has a fair few, Siyeon has three, and Yoohyeon has a good few as well.

Siyeon with short hair is quite superior, so I get it, I mean, Siyeon in general is a big problem- She's gorgeously enchanting haha Dami and Siyeon captured me the first time I watched them, their charisma, their voices and their overall looks left me no choice but to stan lol After knowing their personalities though, Sua came along and now I have 3 biases. Sua has brown hair here, usually is the center of most choreos, after all, she's the main dancer. My wreckers are Jiu and Handong, but like Jiu is an ULT wrecker... gosh she IS ethereal looking haha Yoohyeon and Handong have blonde hair in this one- And funny enough they sometimes do look alike, having same hair color basically turned them into twins xd
