My pain is both exquisitely worse, and yet I have more reasons for joy and peace than I did in 2013. My dad died that year right before Christmas, after a huge blizzard and the birth of my daughter.

I love how the extended version of this captures a bit of what an experience it is to see them live. One of the few out there that jams in concert, it’s an absolute treat to watch these talented musicians just play.
Guitarist Troy VanLeeuwen used to live with my family when I was a teen. Fresh from Minnesota I believe, he was new to California. He played in a band with my uncle, but they never made it big.
