@@SoChilledOutGuy Saw Gojira and Opeth on the same bill several years ago, and yes. Mario is still probably the best rock drummer around, and Opeth is also one of my favorite bands of all-time. Yes, I LOVE the "new" sound (major Yes and King Crimson fan, so that tracks).
yeah i always was on the conflict concerning drums at qotsa, and for me it was always a .. 'the glory times between dave and joey'...but damn is john nailing it...might reconsider my fav lineup
@mattvgyo That is a fact with original recording and touring with Castillo however the jam block is no longer used for this. It's an actual cowbell since the last tours with Theodore.
when it comes to qtosa....everything in this band is on the sweet spot...whether be it drums, bass, guitar, synth, vocals.....and their guitar riffs are so addictive !!!
One of the grooviest riffs of the 2000's wish more people knew how amazing Qotsa and Kyuss were. Remember being like 6 or 7 playing Midnight Club 3 on ps2 when it came out as well as NFS Carbon. This song, Hurricane, and Demon Cleaner shaped the musician i am now!
They sound more like a punk band live, maybe it's the studio magic on the LtP album but the original is far 'sexier' sounding, I think it's the smooth guitar tone vs the raw one here and also the drummer's style
It's maybe the production, versus the adrenaline of playing live and the slightly faster tempo this version has. Because if anything, Joey Castillo's playing is more punk than Jon Theodore's
Caraca... Muitos anos se passaram, todos nós envelhecemos e mesmo assim vcs continuam fantásticos tanto na banda com seres humanos 👏🏻 Mto obg Qotsa por fazer parte da minha infância, cês são foda 🖤🤘🏼
You listen to Van Halen and TOOL in the same day thinking, "It can't get better than this." Then this song hits the radio. You pick your jaw off the floor and your eyes turn into golf balls. Just mail them a Grammy for existing!
I feel like Josh’s guitar is a little lower in the mix then I am accustom to, or maybe its the recording, but otherwise yeah, these guys are tight and they slay. but we all know that
JON MOTHERFUCKING THEODORE. I love Joey til´ death... but.. hands down, Jon is the best motherfucking Drummer they had/have. And yeah: who the fuck is Dave Grohl?
This world is getting VERY ugly. Things that are beyond your imagination, and pain and suffering that is off the scale. If you are any kind of fighter, or any ancient being, we NEED you NOW! I'm crying typing this. You have to help. They are eating people, things worse than any vampire could even imagine. Humanity is helpless, and we need all of your strengths! Please help!!! Humanity needs to believe in your powers, and if you don't come together, nothing will be left!!! I'll only mention this briefly. There is a way out for all of you, BUT you have to help your fellows whom are in body! Please help, before it's too late! I am a Christian and I am begging all of you to help us!!! Do the right thing, please!!! We are calling on Nosferatu to help us!!! This is SERIOUS!!! There is only so many times I can make this body cry for us, and be ignored.
Sethwell one thing about this band...everything is deliberate. The drums sound that way because they want them to sound that way, even if the drummer himself perhaps didn’t. You may not dig it, but I guarantee it’s not lack of tuning ability.
@@FelixDeluna see thats what i thought. For example, I noted that the guitar tone sounded very gritty and scratchy, especially the guitar solo. I thought about it for a while and figured in the end that its very intentional. The tone of this song needs to sound gritty. Cant speak for the drums though as im not a drummer
