It's because Josh has the mids cranked. Most heavier guitarists scoop out the mids and the lower strings kinda drown out the bass even though it's an octave lower. Happens a lot when metal albums are poorly mixed. Fortunately bands like Opeth, Mastodon, Death, and Obscura, and even the first couple of Megadeth albums let the bass shine and coming from a lifelong guitarist the bass is so important and underappreciated
These guys are one of the best live bands regardless of who's on drums. Regardless who is singing and regardless if they have 3 on stage or the whole 5 man band. I love their sound.
Always have listened to Mark Lanegan, always will. Love his songs and version's because they kill. We'll miss you, see you in heaven Ps: I wish I was the guy floating around on that sea of people
Personally I prefer the original Dave Grohl version but Joey Castillo on the kit brings a different energy to the kit. It’s almost like a different but equally as good tune👌
It's late enough to go drivin' And see what's mine Life's a study of dying How to do it right If you're a holy roller If you're feeling loose If you're hanging around I'm holdin' the noose Come a little bit closer And get untied In a hearse rollin' over Just a track in the line Fuck it Come on, let's go drivin' Come on, let's take a little ride Life's a study of dying How to do it right
