@dextersbeard3472
@dextersbeard3472 3 дня назад
@@captainp.2721 what specificly is "too fake" about it? The dinosaurs still look amazing and hold up now. Its one of the biggest movies of the 90's and is still one of the biggest movie franchises over 30 years later for a reason. All that is owed to the success and amazing work in the first movie. Professional SFX artists still talk about just how amazing Jurassic Park's special effects/CGI are and how well they hold up even today. Watch the Corridor Crew talk about it on youtube. So if its not the CGI, what specificly is too fake about this fictional movie? All science fiction is "fake", its not meant to be a documentary. Back to the Future is fake also, you have to be more specific about why you feel this movie doesnt deserve the same respect as those others listed. Jurassic park is more in the realm of believability than Back to the future, scientists are currently working on bringing back extinct species.

@SpectrumAce what is cheesy about Se7en? It's a pretty disturbing thriller. The only other thing that has come close to the creepiness and atmosphere, as well as the character relationships is True Detective season 1. For its purpose and the genre it is in, there isn't a better film, and many filmmakers still chase that "high" that Se7en offered as a thriller. Reptile (2023) is largely influenced by Se7en like so many other thrillers. And like so many other thrillers, it misses the mark. Fight Club is intentionally cheesy for certain scenes to convey its message.

He didn’t say “best”. He said “perfect”. There is a distinction. By “perfect” he just means that the pacing, writing, direction, performances, etc, all conspire to execute the films vision perfectly, for the intended audience. However, many of the best films ever made are flawed in many of these respects. B2TF isn’t a better movie than Apocalypse Now, for instance. While the latter is flawed and messy, it was much more artistically ambitious than B2TF. It’s easier to aim for perfection when the premise and goals of the project, are more simplistic in nature.

There are plenty of flawed masterpieces. conversely, not every "perfect" film is a "masterpiece" either. It's about clarity of vision and execution. where every aspect of the film comes together perfectly with nothing extraneous and nothing missing. It would’ve been a better film. Neil Marshall lived up to his 10-second code, the cops failed to catch him, only the director decided he would go down. Neil Marshall was better in every way at what he did than those Keystone cops. He would have gotten away if the director didn’t overrule it; in other words the characters and story indicated that he was the protagonist and he did his job better and would have slipped away in the crowd. The director can do as he likes but that doesn’t mean it’s perfect. I love the film but it ain’t a perfect crime saga, it could have been a perfect heist film though. Sheherlis fucked everything up by opening fire unnecessarily; he should have eaten it, Marshall should have and would have escaped.

genuinely the room is one of my favorite films. Its so bizarre in every aspect and there's so much to unpack about it, that it's a more rewarding rewatch than many other "good" films.

I know Val Kilmer gets all the love in that movie and rightfully so. It's his best work. On the other side, Michael Biehn was amazing as Johnny Ringo! I think that was his best work too! He was solid as Cpl.Hicks in Aliens, Kyle Reese in Terminator, ....Abyss, The Rock, good character actor, but as Johnny Ringo, he was an iconic blackhat who got his in the end. He had the wild eyed frenzy that made him seem unpredictable when he wasn't being measured and calm.Great call and I totally agree! That is what I meant in my post about "classics" Most critics panned tombstone as average and its more of a cult classic, but I watch it everytime its on and quote it, but don't care if I never see Back to the future again!
