Eric Roberts best performance ever, The Pope of Grenwich Villiage. I am biased being from New York and a young man at the time. You knew Pauly. Everybody knew a "Pauly".
She was fantastic in it, I just watched it a few months ago. I love how the whole video is them talking about how it's not about Dorothy Stratton, it's practically a work of fiction, the guy playing Bogdonavich is barely a character, blah blah blah.....and then suddenly Mariel Hemmingway is supposed to impersonate a woman that hardly anybody knew. Back in '83, I was all about Eric Roberts' performance; watching it now, I was way more blown away by hers. Way more was asked of her as an actress, but that just gets taken for granted in roles like that. It's like the Fredo Syndrome.
