I imagine Tarantino learned a lot about movie history from his days working at a video rental store. I've learned lots about movies before my era partly from watching the TV series, "The Directors". I'm sorry I missed this movie marathon. I am now watching this move, for which Eliot Gould was nominated for an Oscar. Movies about the swinging 60's are fascinating to me. So is Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. For anyone who is intrigued by this era, I would recommend you watch the epix series, "Laurel Canyon" and "Helter Skelter: An American Myth".

Wish this was a conversation between two people.

Bless you for uploading these. btw these specific uploads were (cautiously) mentioned on the new beverly podcast. the conversation was along the lines of: these probably shouldn't be on here, but it's ok for now "just for posterity" ... wink wink

Well, interesting to hear they were mentioned on the podcast! Yeah, I was hoping these would be included on Once Upon A Time in Hollywood's home release, but I also didn't want these intros to get "lost", and hopefully they bring more people into seeing these films.

Q and K nail it. Arc of a great film is when the director lets you form the arc. A time when studio execs had balls for an audience with brains.

The couples did not have sex. It's made clear that Bob is not attracted to Alice nor is Ted attracted to Carol. The couples were lying to themselves. Bob even says that he's never thought of Alice that way.

Good Discussion I don’t think the film is equal to the conversation They didn’t have sex

1. The Bob character is the one who starts the other characters on the sexual pleasure thing, if he hadn't cheated nothing would have happened. 2. The Ted character, it's been pointed out, probably never actually cheated on Alice-being his character is just not capable of such a thing-but probably just lied to impress Bob.

Questions about Bob And Carol And Ted And Alice: 1. It's never explained how the Robert Culp character is so rich being that his career-documentary film maker doesn't pay quite that much! 2. Did the Bob Culp character become an adulterer because of the hippie group he went too-did he get his ideas from the group-or was he always an adulterer?
