Quentin Tarantino and critic Kim Morgan chat about the Van Heflin film as part of a western double-bill in a marathon of classic 60s films (Kim acknowledging this is actually from the 1950s), but mostly Tarantino uses it as an excuse to talk the inspirations for Rick Dalton's career.

me too!!! that was exactly what i was going to write in the comments and you beat me to it! I'm a DGA director and whenever he does a Q&A there I am enthralled by his encyclopedic knowledge of film and more than anything - his undying, unwavering passion for movies! A man after my own heart!!!

I think for anyone it's pleasure to talk with Quentin about cinema for many hours, and also to know how he writes his scripts for every movie he makes. When Tarantino quit directing, Hollywood will lose one of the greatest filmmakers of all-times however I'd like to see him to write novels or books. Does anybody imagine him as a writer?

I listened a few podcasts to which he was being interviewed and he mentioned that he is currently writing novels. By the way he also novelized some of his movies and he wrote the OUATIH novel before the screenplay which was significantly shorter. The legend says that he’s got a four hours long cut of the movie

Movie gunman's Walk is incredible it is like, it is like the quiet gun with Forrest Tucker, no name on the bullet with Audie Murphy are the proud ones with Robert Ryan, why are all these movies being discovered now because making a great film or even a good one is almost impossible for Hollywood to do they don't have the patience to make a western the right way they haven't and almost 45 years I don't care about the television Westerns, I don't care about the 12-hour television westerns either films are being rediscovered this movie will touch you like the other three I have mentioned?????? 0:15

Gunman's Walk is rather undercooked. I would love to see the film remade as a four hour epic or miniseries that begins with Lee Hackett's early years and ends the same way the movie did.

Seems to be insightful but, on perhaps an unrelated note, I hope nobody I care about ever feels like plastic surgery is necessary.
