This channel is so underrated. The b-roll of the film in the background is always on point. I also cant imagine how far and wide you look to get all these takes and how much dribble you must sort through.
Quentin is the best at explaining movies you've never heard of. He has a way of getting you excited about something you didn't know you could possibly care about. That's kind of a gift.
The remake is nearly a frame by frame and “the girl” is delicious. At the time I saw it, there was no possible way to view the original so I really hope it comes out on Blu ray at some point.
Oh wow! I remember seeing this in the theater when i was a kid - and I still have the soundtrack album by Michel Legrand with Petula Clark singing the theme in French and English! I've never seen it since. Oh please, I hope Tarantino is going to get this out on blu-ray! It was so groovy! I saw the remake and liked it too, but that was probably because of my fond memories of the Litvak version.
The remake from 2015 is terrific. I had no idea about this film. I see Stephane Audran is in this. For those who don't know her, you should. She acted from the 1950's on in endless French films, was married to Claude Chabrol, one of the most consistently great directors.
