Quentin Nelson and the Indianapolis Colts match up against Aaron Donald and the Los Angeles Rams in week 2 of the 2021 NFL season. #colts #indianapoliscolts #rams #larams #aarondonald #quentonnelson #nfl
@@ktbx2524 How is 8 seasons isn't nothing lol? Donald is a 7x Pro Bowler, 7x first team All-Pro, 3x DPOY and the best player in the NFL not name Patrick Mahomes/Tom Brady. At the pace he's on. He has a chance to become a top 10 player ever. What player or players you know over the past 20yrs, that can say he's been the best player in the NFL every season of his career and been healthy and not on the offensive side of the ball?
@@ktbx2524 playing 15-20 seasons as a QB (ESPECIALLY in today’s league where they baby QB’s like they’re fucking toddlers) is easier than playing around 10 seasons in a position as physical as DT/DE. And especially for someone like Aaron Donald; who gets doubled practically every play.
One play Donald was held by Nelson and it was a very obvious hold and if he was held Donald would of had a sack also he could never get any holes in the run game against him
@@EDW.5 I could careless at this point … only fanbases who didn’t make the playoffs would still be debating about this ….. I take it your a colts fan …. We got divisional round matchup against Tom Brady to worry about
This is why Quentin is a generational talent. Not trying to take anything away From AD. He’s still the best defender in the NFL but Nelson did so great against the best
Aaron Donald Won. Nelson did Good, but he Held a Few Times, Aaron Was Doubled a bit and Aaron actually Got in on Wentz, Wentz got the ball away quick enough tho
Both did pretty solid frr.. Definitely tops at their respective positions. They dominate literally everyone else and here they made each other look somewhat human 🤣🤣
Quenton Won, AD. Only beat him maybe twice. They matched up at least 8 or more times. Quenton did have help some of those reps but he still was able to control AD just for the enough time needed. It is the QB’s job to take advantage of that or not.
Im a rams fan .. AD A BEAST & LAST PLAY HELD AD HE WOULD'VE GAVE UP A SACK.. AD DID HIS JOB.. NELSON ALL PRO FOR A REASON.. AFTER WATCHING THE GAME U CAN'T SAY NUN BAD BOUT NEITHER..AD STOP 2 RUNNING PLAYS ON DAT GOAL LINE STOP..THEY WENT AT IT
See someone who actually saw the run game and the hold on Donald that would of been a sack if he wasn’t held some people don’t watch football I swear smh 🤦♂️
@@cringesaurus6588 I believe that if a defensive tackle who is called “the best defender in the NFL” is held to ZERO sacks in a game, he did not win the matchup at the line.
@@Jalen_Ramseys_Burner it’s the NFL that’s just what blocking looks like. Nelson definitively won though if Rams fans are complaining about the refs lmao
I agree these chumps don't know what there talking about he was double teamed most of the time I want what u two are smoking cause if anyone is blind or needs glasses it's you two
Donald won in my opinion, he beat him easy first play ▶️ 😏 then he had help all game. Had false start an holding on same play they didn't call. Nobody can block Donald 1on1 💯
This why matchup videos are so stupid. If you watched the game you’d know donald was constantly in the backfield or creating pressure majority of snaps. These videos dont tell the whole story. Not trying to sound like a fanboy neither.
All of you saying Quenton Nelson dominated or won you're insane look at Aaron Donald's next-gen stats he provided an enormous amount of pressure that entire game and made Carson Wentz life an absolute living hell. So many hits and pressures on the quarterbacks and running backs in the backfield I don't know what you guys were watching but it clearly wasn't this game
it's AD vs Nelson, not AD vs colts o-line. AD didn't line up against Nelson every snap so all those next gen pressures don't mean he did them all against Nelson.
Donald for sure won he was held on one play that would of been a sack for him stopped two plays on the goal line and was being double teamed plus this was Nelson’s worse pff grade ever I’m pretty sure I really don’t understand what y’all are thinking saying Nelson won lol 😂
1st matchup @0:08 - Donald was doubled teamed, he would've won if not for the double team. W for Donald 2nd matchup @0:21 - Donald beats Quenton Nelson 1 v 1, and if it was a passing play, Carson Wentz was gonna get sacked, but it was a run for a big gain. Nevertheless, W for Donald 3rd matchup @0:44 - Donald beats 1 v 1, (goodness gracious AD probably has the best get off of any linemen I've ever seen. As great as Quenton Nelson is, he had no chance on that play) W for Donald 4th matchup @0:55 - 1 v 1, initially a stalemate, then Quenton Nelson decides to pancake Aaron Donald (good sportsmanship from Nelson helping Donald up after pancaking him lol) W for Nelson 5th matchup @1:03 - 1 v 1, another stalemate, no pancake this time for Nelson. Even though Wentz did get sacked, Nelson didn't let Aaron Donald anywhere near Wentz. Therefore, W for Nelson 6th matchup @1:10 - 1 v 1, another stalemate, on one hand Nelson isn't allowing Donald to pass his gate, but on the other hand, Donald is gaining ground towards Wentz and if this play lasted 1 second more, Nelson would've been in Wentz' lap. Therefore, Tie for both 7th matchup @1:17 - 1 v 1, stalemate after stalemate, however Quenton wasn't letting Donald get anywhere near Wentz during this play, luckily for Donald, the ball carrier ran right towards him. W for Nelson 8th matchup @1:27 - Donald was doubled teamed, the LT wouldn't allow Donald to establish leverage (towards Donald's right) against Quenton Nelson, although I don't think it would've mattered, Nelson was pretty grounded here. W for Nelson 9th matchup @1:32 - 1 v 1, Donald got pass the gate of Nelson, and Nelson was holding on for dear life, Wentz definitely felt the pressure. W for Donald 10th matchup @2:45 - Donald was double teamed. It was a quick pass play, I'm really not sure who would've won, if not for the double team. It seemed like Nelson was losing leverage towards his own left, and Donald wanted to go towards Nelson's right, but the Center double teamed Donald, and stopped Donald's momentum. Tie for both 11th matchup @3:14 - 1 v 1, Donald again got pass the gate of Nelson and definitely had Nelson off balance (sorry Jonathan Vilma, Nelson didn't have Donald locked up on this play lol, Donald made sure he had wrist control at 3:24-3:25 slow it down to 0.5x speed. Much love for the former Miami Hurricane linebacker though). Wentz did complete the pass, but that isn't Donald's fault, he did enough to pressure Wentz, it's up to the secondary to force an incompletion, they left their guy wide open. W for Donald 12th matchup @3:31 1 v 1, another stalemate, man these guys are ridiculous, they pretty much cancel each other out. With the 2nd effort, Donald DID get pass Nelson, but if it was a passing play Wentz probably would've gotten the ball off in time, but on the other hand Wentz definitely would've been pressured. Tie for both In the end I have it 5-4-3 for Donald. However, one should take into account that Nelson wasn't at 100% and that Donald was. So, if you ask me as a Rams fan, Nelson did ENOUGH to win this matchup overall, and not let Donald manhandle him the way Donald usually manhandles other offensive guards. However, I truly favor Aaron Donald in a 1 v 1 matchup against Quenton Nelson, because even though they both seemed to cancel each other out most of the time, Donald got through Nelson's gate in 3 second or less. NOBODY does that to Quenton Nelson. Against other defenders, in 3 seconds or less Quenton Nelson is locking them up in timeout, and they're not passing his gate, end of story.
@@Ledgic-TM brother we’re not talking about any defensive tackle we’re talking Arron Donald three time defensive player of the year obviously big q wasn’t going to completely neutralize him but being able to keep him away long enough to make those plays is top tier and this is only Q’s I think 5th or 6th year
@@jarellamos-hicks5005 we definitely aren't watching the same thing because you definitely didn't watch the video matchup 😂. and that's not a hold. having your arm out doesn't make it a hold. it'd only be a hold if Nelson pulled him and turned his body or took him to the ground. you see o-linemen blocking like that all the time in games and never get called yet you still got people like you screaming hold at the top of their lungs because they don't understand what a hold is.
I say both did really well donald got threw multiple time and Nelson definitely stopped him multiple time as well but if Nelson took him on all by himself 1 on 1 I would say Nelson would have won
@@JosephEMercado Well I mean the 1 on 1s that Donald had against Q was just plays for the QB to get enough to get it off. So did he block Donald? NO, he survived against Donald. 🤷♂️
What about on the reps he wasn’t double teamed and still got locked up? Also, aren’t Donald fans always saying how good he is at beating double teams? Not against Nelson apparently. Nelson won
I mean it sucks but in order to win as a linemen you have to be perfect. Donald won but Nelson did a great job for the most part. Seemed like they had a lot of respect for each other as well, awesome matchup and nice to see the big boys getting some love
All time match up, QN did his job with a bit of help and did the best vs a healthy AD. But I think AD won the 1vs1 battle, look at the size difference AD is so fucking strong.
Donald clearly won this matchup, I don't think people understand if a dl and guard go against each other 10 times and the dl wins more than 3 reps, he won the matchup. Ol will always have the advantage because they know whats coming, so anything over than 30% for a dl is by far a win, and donald did that.
1:34 if that's not a hold then I don't know what is lmfao. Props to Nelson and since he won the double team matchup but 1v1,Donald got the best of him most of the time. Amazing game either way and go Rams!
a hold would be if he started turning him or altering his path. all he did was have an arm in front of him. Nelson didn't pull or turn him so they won't consider that a hold. having your arm out like Nelson is not a hold and will never be considered a hold if that is all he does.
