Quest 3S Leaked by Meta, INSANE New GAME REVEAL! Quest 3 Enhancements (& so much more) 

I'm basically certain they can't but if they could somehow sell that 3S for say $199 I reckon that would move the needle in VR. I think they sold like 20m Quest2's, they could double that at that price and just hope to make all the money back on the App and accessories.

why go with a 3s and fresnel lenses if you already have a q2. I'm still stuck with the q2 until the q4 probably. The leap isn't big enough for me to upgrade

Totally different "genre" but Rickenbacker bass guitars have a 4003 and 4003S model - the "S" or "special" model is a cut down version with less features.

Best game AAA experience in VR for me was Resident Evil 4 from Oculus, and I think was for the optimization and controls. That last is the most important thing. Any sugestion of any other game? (steam too)

Excited for Behemoth, but I will hold judgment on Alien as servios have not released any thing near as good as skydance. Their best game being creed. You said its a quest 3 exclusive when the footage said PSVR2, so I take it you mean it won't be coming to Quest 2 rather than a Quest 3 exclusive.

So for Asgard's Wrath 2 you say that you have to sacrifice your 90hz refresh in order to have this upgrade, kinda sounds like it's an option. Is there some kind of setting you need to enable to turn on the better graphics? I downloaded the update and to be honest, I didn't really feel like it looked any different than before. Very underwhelming. Would make sense if I missed some kind of setting to turn it on.

The “S” might be _part,_ or at least adjacent to, Microsoft’s Series naming - especially given the “X-Box Special Edition Quest 3” allegedly releasing...

See in VR for me immersion is more important than frame rate. I am not someone who pukes my lunch if things are less than 90hz so 72 hz? Its fine. That is where I first came into VR. For me the differences with lighting and textures adds so much to the sense of place and the immersion that I am not giving it up for a duller, flatter, less immersive world at 90 fps.

As far as I can recall, every iPhone with an S on it except for the first one has always been a lesser device, meant for more budget minded consumers. So, I'm assuming the Q3S is definitely cheaper and lower spec'ed. Probably more like a Quest 2 Pro, maybe?

there is a channel on youtube that does lets plays of the og tomb raider but with an ai that can narrate and comment on the gameplay as Lara herself. apparently its not an actual ai, its just the uploader who puts a script through ai voice generator but that said, i would love to have an actual ai do that while playing, and be able to talk to her! i think will be possible very soon with what we seen with gpt-o and ability to comment on whats on screen.

Even the old nvidia gpu's with usb-c can't supply 12v. So the psvr2 PC version is never going to be a plug-and-play usb-c thing. If this actually makes the psvr2 PCVR compatible with SteamVR, without needing a ps5 console, I'll def buy one. I mainly use my QPro/rtx4090 for PCVR with Link or Air Link. However, I also still have a +4yo Vive Pro1 (AMOLED screens, Etsy GearVR lens mod, 2x2.0 base stations, and Index controllers). I still love those beautiful amoled screens in darkish environments. I just don't like the SDE due to its 1600x1400 screen res. Hopefully the psvr5's higher res will improve the SDE. I just hope that mura and lens quality won't be an issue. Am i the only one having sound issues when streaming quest 3 to pc web browser? All was fine until A month ago update or something bricked my sound into a garbled mess. countless hours lost to troubleshooting, very frustrating when thats how me and my son play together.

A better name would have been the Quest 3 Lite or something. Something to indicate that it is a lesser model or people are going to be guaranteed to think it is more powerful. I think the S might stand for slim, like it does with the Xbone S, but without seeing the headset I cant tell whether it is slimmer or night, and given that they have dropped back to fresnel lenses which take up more space than the pancake ones, I cant see it actually being slimmer.

I did try my first experience today with vr on a Playstation 5 , I did try a boxing game, the game was GREED and boy that experience is very very diff from traditional gaming I even punch a closet on a wall , it was awesome , I will buy a VR for sure now on pc

The xbox one s had some upgrades and downgrades. Xbox one vcr was 1080p only but had kinect support and hdmi in. Xbox one S can output in 4k but only for blue-ray has no kinect or hdmi in, but had a negalgable performance boost.

12 v over USBC? That's kind of sketch to be honest. Yes it can be delivered. But not very many computer parts can do it. I think that the adapter is just going to take the USBC into a brick style adapter. You'll be able to feed 12 volts with a included power supply and hook that device up with USB-C to a computer. That splitter will probably handle all of the communication between the headset and the computer.

They should have just called it the quest 3 lite.everyone getting exited for behemoth but theres a chance it could just be another linear game like call of the mountain,if its open world then that would be awesome but its strange they didnt mention that

I just bought Blades and sorcery the rift version for that 1.0 update. Now someone is gonna tell me that is only for the steamVr version lol. I hope not.

The PSVR2 will not feature headset haptics or adaptive triggers or HDR on PC I bet you didn't know that it is only available on the PS5 set up and not through the PC adapter for it

Quest 3 is already pretty shaved down. Real disappointment that Meta is pretty much abandoning the face tracking feature. But i guess theyre just gonna save that for the next gen consumer headset In the meantime nothing to do but grab what little stock is left of quest pro's or figure out a way to import a Pico since those are the only new headsets that offer face tracking

The stuttering is good on the development version, it's a work in progress usually they give us a polished turd compared to the finished version.

How Steve, I have a question . Why are none of the content creators talking about the fact that the Internal microphone on the quest 3 does not record in game voice when there is ambient sound from the game being played . I’m actually that this is being pushed aside. I’ve sent back 4 unite and all the replacements have the same problem . If you could address this and some ideas as to how one can solve it with a work around you would be helping a lot of folks . There are tons of threads about this but everyone who claims to be providing balanced content seems to be avoiding this major issue with the product

I didn't think boneworks physics were all that honestly. They were good dont get me wrong, but miles away from where people acted like they were like.

I don’t think the Quest 3S will be superior to the regular quest 3, and that’s because the Meta Quest Pro which Meta believes is “the superior headset” (you can tell by the price tag) is below the Quest 3, but above the Quest 2. So that most likely means it’s just in order of when the headsets released.

Hey Stevie 😉 I don't really understand this. If Quest 3S isn't better than Quest 3, but a Quest 2 update, how can it be a great thing ? This will just slow down VR even more cuz all games need to be completable with a lower spec headset. Am I missing something here ? I think standalone has slowed everything down enough and hoped that we could get moving to a higher level instead of these low end VR experience 😮‍💨 I myself play nothing but PVCR, I have been a VR user since the start (DK2) I honestly think that a Quest 3 pro has been much better, I'm not really impressed about the Quest 3. But that's the headset I got, I'm not complaining 😅

I cant wait for the Alien VR game coming out.. Thats going to be wild! As far as the Quest 3s.. Same resolution as Quest 2, Same Frensel lense as a Quest 2. Only major changes is the Snapdragon 2x and AR ability. But no notible difference in visual fidelity if the same resolution as Q2 wich is a dealbreaker.

Behemoth definitely looks better than The Walking Dead to me, because it has an art style and visuals that I actually like. I kinda hate the visuals in The Walking Dead. Also not a fan of the slightly delayed/wobbly "realistic" melee and such in that game. I hope Behemoth reigns that in a bit and is more like Asgard's Wrath 2 in that respect, which I think is just much better to actually control and do melee attacks and stuff.

Rx 6000 outdated there's me with my Rx 6800 that there is nothing out that warrants an upgrade I play 95% of games at 4k yes with quality upscaling but a lot of them at 100 fps with FSR 3 frame gen etc. and on my 1440p monitor I get 165 hertz all at 99% of the time max settings. very outdated GPU that lol. I don't believe my 6800 has a USB -C cable though. My motherboard does but when i plug my quest 3 into it it gives a power warning about slow charging. wether that was a bug I do not know. Be nice not to have to buy an adaptor. Only reason I am thinking of buying one is quest 3 is awesome. But the battery runs down even when plugged in. I have only really got down to like 84% I am unsure if when it gets to a certain point it will draw more power and charge back up to a point. Haven't really done enough testing. Least I hope that is the case. be not too good if it will run down to zero after a couple 3 hours of PCVR. In which case I will have to buy a PSVR 2 for the PCVR which will suck tbh. But tbh I don't really play for that long a session anyway so it would probably still suffice.

I am sure the new quest 3 console will be an improved version! If you play the asgards 2 and you go to the new settings for the quality, it says "you can only enable these two settings if you have a quest 3 plus!!!

I hate Bonelabs - sluggish controls, poor physics. If Boneworks is just a Bonelabs mod, it might inherit those sluggy controls and physics.

Meta is already talking about releasing the Quest 4 by late 2025 or early 2026. In my opinion, it doesn't make any sense to upgrade from a Quest 2 to a Quest 3 at this point. The Quest 3 doesn't even have any exclusives and in about a year from now, they'll be talking about coming out with the Quest 4 which is supposed to compete with the Apple Vision Pro 2. The Quest 4 is going to have OLED display, Eye tracking, and higher resolution per eye than the Quest 3's resolution, and the Quest 4 is going to be more sleek and lighter.

Why not call the new Quest what it wants to be, and that is the Meta Quest 2 Pro. Come on, you know it makes sense because it has the same lenses and resolution as the Quest 2. It just adds MR and color pass-through and other things. Besides, it will still be new and improved on the Quest 2, so that's good, isn't it? I still think the Quest 3 is the way to go, especially with the better resolution and pancake lenses. Another great weekly VR update as usual, Steve. The S stands for Suckier or $hittier as it is a major downgrade from the Quest 3 created solely to rake in sales from casual VR gamers who don't want the best that Meta offers this generation and want to save a few bucks. the quest 3 is literally the worst vr headset known to man.i thought id be getting a nice upgrade from an oculus rift s but its worse,alot worse.i mean 2-3 gbps down the usb lead as a pose to display port or hdmi bandwidth like the rift s is a non contest regardless of the lenses.Connecting it up to pcvr is a complete joke,it very rarely works straight off the bat without having to mess around with pretty much every setting in your pc to get it somewhere near running ok beforehand,and by that time ur ready to throw it at a wall or smash it up with a hammer.The device cant run the onboard games like asgards wrath 2 without stuttering around either and now they are bringing out graphical enhancments to make it perform even worse.The device is packed with crap features it hasnt got the power to run properly.At the end of the day its pretty much a smartphone in one of those carboard cutout headset things.u get what u pay for i guess.i have absolutely nothing positive to say about them,complete piece of junk and a waste of money.
