This film is so underrated. Like Anastasia it was clearly made in the mould of Disney but is its own animal and a lot of effort has clearly gone into it. It has a genuinely epic feel, the animation is beautiful, the villain is both funny and legitimately threatening and the songs are beautiful. I think this might be my favourite because it just contrasts so much with all of the others. It’s completely individual, which is symbolic of the characters. I love Devon and Cornwall, they’re one of my favourite comic duos; they made me laugh so much as a kid with this song and they still do now that I’m a grown man. Whoever had the idea of casting a Brooklyn comedian and frigging Eric Idle as brothers in an animated fantasy movie is a mad genius.
It's honestly so nice to me that you can hear the individual parts with headphones(Devon on left, Corny on right). Also this is my favorite song in the entire movie. An unpopular opinion, I know. But it's just such a fun song for me.
same, it's a very out of place song for this movie (an animated movie set in Medieval times trying to be realistic having this Looney Toons type song in it makes no lick of sense) but the song is nowhere near bad. honestly I think it's a little too good for the movie
@@scarred-healer1368 I love this song too, I love the lines "stuck with you for 500 years" "oh dear it's learnt to count" and the bit with them being babes and dancing eggs is just brilliant and the Sonny and Cher bit and the Elvis bit especially when Devon says "Devon has just left the building" I have always wanted to see a spinoff series of them as youngsters. Maybe it is a little out of place for this film but it is such a funny song and the visual jokes really do work. I suppose they put it in due to it being a Warner brothers film.
Yeah, I mean, I can understand why some people wouldn’t like it, but I personally think the songs are good, the casting was on par with many underrated classics and the moral of how everyone can make a difference in the world is phenomenal.
This is genuinely catchy and clever song, with immensely satisfying art, animation, and visual gags. I just wish with a song like this they would have made the film a little longer and given the brothers more of an arc.
I know this one gets a lot of hate, but I gotta say, I always liked it. When you have three little sisters, it's pretty easy to understand how these two feel--though I suppose I should consider myself lucky that I was never physically attached to one of them.
They just don't make kids films like this anymore . Pure genius . The animation, the songs, when they put actual devotion to making it as real and entertaining as possible .

The ending of this song is so hilarious! I absolutely loved this as a child. The thing is, I was born blind. So for me, listening to what was happening was very important. Even though I couldn’t see the movie, I still enjoyed the sound effects end dialogue. anyway, thanks for posting this.

I watched this when I was 4 and I still love this song when I'm 30.🥰 A great movie for the whole family. Full of beautiful and deep messages, witty comebacks and good music. Back when studios cared about production instead of political messaging.
It never ceases to amaze me that someone like David Foster was behind all the musical numbers in this movie, like, the same guy who did the soundtracks to St. Elmo's Fire and The Bodyguard.

I have a pair of OC's based on these characters. They, like their inspirations, are conjoined twins and have names inspired by real places (Florence and Tuscany), but are humans on a pirate crew, and the Cornwall-analogue is female. I can absolutely see them getting a musical number based on this.
