I prefer sun shades that you put in your cars I don't like the idea of using bubble wrap especially when you spray water on your window to hold the bubble wrap on there is a high chance of causing black mold
I use window quilts made from leftover quilt batts and cotton fabrics. Layer and bind like a tied quilt. I add cafe curtain rings, 3, and 3 cup hooks in the top of the window frame. These work wonderfully and look nice also. They also last for many decades. Cup hooks and cafe curtain rings also make excellent curtain or drape tiebacks holding, These are more hassle to make but last for decades and can be machine washed and dried.
I use bubblewrap duct taped around window frame. Or stapled to 1" slats screwed in around frame. Creates second window pane. Those car things aren't available at our $tree.
you just scrape the bubble wrap off with a glass scraper tool, use a little water as you do it and youre good to go, also you won't get the benefit of the suns warmth when the winter sun is shining through the window if you're blocking it with the sun shade. And you aren't going to get black mold from spraying a little water on your window and wiping up the excess when you're done. If you add the bubble wrap and then add a second layer of plastic to the frame, then you're actually insulating your window. I could see the sun shade being a great thing to use in the summer time to block the sun from heating up the house then though.
I’m thinking of figuring out how to rig something like this on my Kids’ room window. They’re on the north side of the building and it is so hard to regulate 🤦♀️ we also rent so I can do this with the blinds behind them cause the window has to look white when shut up 🤷🏼♀️
Understatement.. ugly as all get out. Do not SOAK windows or wrap. Do use spray bottle. No mold, peeled off just fine. Use packing tape around borders.
