Another creative recipe. It is difficult for me to get dasheen leaves and when I find them, they are very expensive here in Toronto. I make callaloo with spinach leaves. We have spinach quiche, and this is similar. I will substitute the leaves with spinach. Nice lessons. You are an excellent teacher. I am going to try this. I wish I was living in your house for your dinners, even with my hated visitors on the wall sometimes. Both you and your husband did an excellent job. Lovely video and lovely dinner.

He pronounced it something like "CAH-SHE-MEH", and correctly stated that it was the cousin of Sugar Apple. This CUSTARDY COUSIN of the Sugar Apple has an interesting history that deserves great respect. It's name is spelled: CASHIMA, and it is known as WILD CASHIMA FRUIT. It's scientific name is: ROLLINIA DELICIOSA or ROLLINIA MUCOSA, and it loves to grow in damp, or semi-flooded areas. It can be found from Peru to northern Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay, and northward to Guyana, Columbia, Venezuela and Southern Mexico, the Lesser Antilles, Trinidad and Tobago including Martinique, Guadeloupe, and Puerto Rico. In Haiti, it is called - CACHIMAN, but in French and in Creole, the "AN" at the end of words take on the pronunciation "AH", so the French and Spanish pronunciations still sound the same (i.e. CAH-SHE-MAH).
