The timing on this video couldn't have been better. My cousin and I go to camping at Kendall Campground right there by Wolf Creek several times a year. We normally go for trout but I've been researching how to fish for walleye over the past couple months for the next time we go down. I was happy to see you catch something from the shore because we don't have a boat so I'll be fishing from exactly where you are. It gives me hope. Based on the fog on the water, I'm assuming you were down there pretty early in the morning fishing? Great video!
Great video Ryan, my last fishing trip ended up in an expensive disaster, lost the top section on my Major Craft Crostage Down West Wales, fishing for bass, never mind, great videos and recipes 🏴
Ryan pretty sure that was a Sauger, they have the black blotches you see on yours, they also have very distinct black circles on the dorsal fin. We catch a lot of them and walleye in the state I live in just north of Iowa 😁 Not sure how you were fishing them or if you even need the info, but a good way is to put a slip weight on your line first then a hook. Move the slip weight up about 2-3 feet from the hook and put a small split shot on your line just below the slip weight. You can cast this out and let it settle. This works best with a minnow hooked thru the lips and the rig allows the minnow to swim around just off the bottom. Another tip is to put a bead on the line before putting the hook on, red or chartreuse seem to work best….
Ryan good job. Have not been Walleye fishing since the early 90''s. Nice quick video with 3 of my favorite things to do. Fish, cook and eat. Keep up the great work and stay safe.
