Good idea! In the process of doing something very similar I stumbled on a magnetic picker upper ( not the official name but I’m drawing a blank) at the green home improvement store for about $4. It works great and has the bonus of being telescopic so I can change the size easily or collapse it for storage. It stays under the bed rail of my truck so I never forget it 👍🏽
