When I do dry fire practice (aka, not enough, lol) I purchased a Coolfire trainer setup for my old M&P open gun, that makes dryfire a treat! You have realistic recoil, trigger reset, everything you do firing live rounds except the bullet and the noise. Draw to first shot times, split times, etc if you use a timer with it. It is a nice training tool. Biggest advantage for me is using it to call your shots and watching your sights/dot lift and return. Draw to first shot practice is great too. Really helps work on your speed. You use your real gun so all the advantages of practicing with something you shoot. Neat product definitely helps but nothing truly replaces rounds down range.
Alright alright alright so is the cool fire system better than the dry fire mag? Actual question looking for opinions. Interested in both tho for sure. Thx
I just want to say Jerry that I appreciate you and who you are. Aside from shooting guns, you are a respectable man. This world is a great place with a person like you to learn from. Thanks, and may God bless you!
Jerry is the guy to learn this from. Even in his regular vids slo-mo his finger stays off the trigger when drawing. Great example for everybody from the best in the business. Well done, Sir.
Hi there Jerry if you ever look at the comments on these RU-vid videos this is a new one and it is always great and heartwarming for me to see youngsters like Jerry Mikulec in the sport of shooting, God bless him and his daughter Lena, I only have two of my daughters that are interested in shooting, I don’t know why the others aren’t (?) I enjoy this video about dry fire which is something I rarely actually do enough, though my bedrooms are pretty filled up with my children and my grandchildren they visit to my great delight often, once again God bless all Patriots, God bless the United States and Long live the republic, Freedom
Safety is number one. Just to repeat everything you mentioned. Clearing and checking your firearm, keeping live ammo away and your last point be sure of your target and beyond which was an outside wall with a berm beyond it. Perfect. Now practice and have fun with the drills. And for those that are new gun owners, do not dry fire a 22lr firearm. Thanks Jerry.
@@soyouveheard2851 rim fire cartridges require the hammer to strike the rim of the 22lr so it damages your hammer and the striking area over time. A Rough Rider has a safety which prevents damage to the "striking area" but the hammer will see wear after time but is cheap to replace anyways.
Snap caps for lock open reload drills are awesome, especially if you practice mag retention! Also for rack, tap and pull. For range, have a buddy toss a couple snap caps in your mag just to get you into a groove of clearing misfires. Downside for the red ones is you can see it's an obvious dud and clear it quick without worrying of a hang fire or squib.
Thank you Jerry for the information and your teaching , would like to see more videos with you and Lena shooting , was disappointed I didn't see you and Lena in more catagories in the gundy awards thing so I could vote for YA' , GOD BLESS Y'all have an amazing abundantly blessed New Year
Hey Jerry, thank you so much for the videos. Just a quick question and forgive me if I have missed this in another video. What belt and accessories do you use for not only this video, but for competition?
Gerry is the only guy to literally DRILL in your head the safety. I mean yeah everyone else says " yes, check clear " make sure but Gerry absolutely puts safety in at EVERY opportunity. I have to respect it. It's like hes Autistic and just is " Gun Safety " the person. This is how ALL new, beginner, intermediate, and professional gun owners need to think. Be well Gerry.
Jerry should host a TV show called Celebrity Shooters. In this show Jerry teaches celebrities all his tricks to be a safe, fast, and accurate shooter. I would watch the heck out of that. His first episode could be with Alec Baldwin.
I'd love it if you guys had more videos about what's going on with gun rights Jerry has a responsible calm and true way of looking at things and making choices I can't speak for everyone but I personally would definitely listen to anything that man has to say Ps GET SOME!! Lol
