How is it QAYG if the backing isn't on? Won't we have to requilt the top/batting to the backing then?

Some methods add the backing later, as in this case, and yes, you do add additional quilting - often SID or similar.

What brand of batting are you using for this project? Cotton or 80/20?

I think I was using Warm & Natural 100% cotton - it's what I usually use but you can definitely use an 80/20 for this project.

I am confused ... you said you made your starting marked square at 30 inches but later you noted / messaged that it was actually 32-1/2 inches ... which one works better for the project ???

You'll note that later in the video, I explained that I had actually drawn 32½" rather than 30½". Sometimes I get my numbers mixed up 😉
