Add some plaid to your fashion illustrations using Adobe Photoshop. Did you know you can create a photo-realistic plaid fabric from a blank page in Photoshop? Let's create a plaid with a twill weave and make it a seamless repeat. I'll show you how to make a weave pattern that you can use for any plaid. After some digital weaving, we'll define and fill a page with the pattern. Next, we'll turn it into a smart object to add some non-destructive noise, turning our cotton fabric into a cozy flannel. || Robin Schneider

I really love your videos! If you don't mind unsolicited input, I have a suggestion for making this even more flexible: 1. Draw the stripes as rectangle vector shapes, group them, and turn the group into a smart object. That way, you can change color or update the layout anytime. 2. For the texture - make a gray solid fill layer and then apply the noise filter to it. Anyway, I'll shut up now. Again, I love your videos!

Input is always welcome! I always us a noise layer set to overlay or soft light and a clipping mask when I do my renderings, I'm not sure why I didn't do it that way in the video. I love the suggestion for using the shape tools, They frustrate me so I tend to avoid them unless absolutely necessary. But I will start incorporating them into making plaids- great suggestion. Thanks!!!

@@RobinSchneider Oh, right, I meant to say set the gray fill layer to overlay as well. Great minds think alike!

Are there other weave patterns you recommend? I need to make one that's sort of a basket weave. What other pattern/weaves can you make?
