Here's a quick and easy recipe for Prawn Potato Curry cooked in a pressure cooker:
Ingredients:
250 grams prawns, cleaned and deveined
2 teaspoons mustard seeds
1 teaspoon melon seeds, soaked
1 onion, chopped
1/2 inch ginger, chopped
Few garlic cloves
2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons mustard oil
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 cup water
Instructions:
1. repare the Paste:
In a blender, combine mustard seeds, soaked melon seeds, chopped onion, ginger, and garlic cloves.
Blend into a smooth paste.
2. Marinate the Prawns:
In a bowl, mix the prawns with the prepared paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, cubed potatoes, and mustard oil.
Allow the prawns to marinate for 20-30 minutes.
3. Pressure Cook the Curry:
Heat a little oil in the pressure cooker.
Add bay leaf and cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
Add the marinated prawns and potatoes to the pressure cooker.
Fry them for a couple of minutes until they start to release their aroma.
Pour in 1/2 cup of water and mix everything well.
4. Pressure Cook:
Close the pressure cooker lid and cook on medium heat.
Wait for 2-3 whistles or cook until the prawns and potatoes are tender.
5. Serve:
Once the pressure is released naturally, open the lid of the pressure cooker.
