Quick Concept: Daisy in Luigi's Mansion 

Instead of doing FAQs on the Quick Concepts, I think I'll use the pinned comments on these videos to explain why this isn't a full brainstorm, as well as hypothesize a few directions the idea could be taken. This one is so short because my desire to see it happen is fairly shallow, stemming from wanting to see Daisy and Luigi actually interact in a meaningful way, rather than some deeper gameplay idea that I generally build brainstorms off of. I don't feel a need to explain further because the idea is self-explanatory, it's easy to take one look at the artwork and understand it, instantly imagining how that could work. But for the hell of it, say this was taken further? I'd see this hypothetical game taking place in Sarasaland proper. The ancient Egyptian inspiration slots easily into the Luigi's Mansion formula as Luigi and Daisy could explore pyramids or tombs to stop some ancient curse plaguing the land. Could also lead to some ways of showing off ancient Mushroom Kingdom culture through the ghosts! Maybe Luigi meets a doppelganger of himself, learning that he's a distant descendent of a Pharoah? Lotsa fun to be had there! Gameplay-wise, I think I'd prefer swapping between both Luigi and Daisy over the other options, simply because a big part of the atmosphere of Luigi's Mansion is the fact that Luigi is alone and spooked. The way I'd do it is that throughout the game Luigi and Daisy keep getting separated for various reasons. For example, Luigi's hesitant to cross a very rickety bridge while Daisy confidently walks forward. Turns out Luigi was right, the bridge snaps when she's halfway across, Daisy falls, and now both Luigi and Daisy have to find a way to reunite. (A comment suggested swapping between them ala the Lego games, which would work quite well!) Or say after they do reunite, a ghost spooks Luigi causing him to run straight into a tripwire, causing a cage to slam down and trap him. Now Daisy has to explore alone for a bit to find a way to free Luigi. Things of that nature! Building on the "separated but both playable" idea, there could be obstacles that can only be surpassed if the character in the other area does something. Using the previous example, say Daisy's path is blocked by a flooded passage, which can only be passed if Luigi finds some way to block the water pouring down to her level. Likewise Daisy could knock down structural supports on her level, causing something to collapse above that provides a bridge for Luigi. But ultimately, again, I'm here for the character moments, not the gameplay. So many comments have already expounded on why the interactions between these two could be an absolute delight to watch, they'd have such polarizing reactions to scary situations and it would be so much fun to explore the various pros and cons between reckless courage and cowardly caution in a "horror" environment.

I wanna see Daisy essentially shittalk Luigi for being scared throughout the entire game, only for the two of them to encounter something Daisy is scared of, and for her to flip out harder than Luigi ever did. As for what that specific phobia would be, I'm thinking aliens. Daisy already has a bad history with extraterrestrials, with all that Tatanga shenanigans in Mario Land.

I imagine a scene where Daisy and Luigi get into a dangerous moment. Luigi curls into a ball and cries. Daisy tries to pep talk him into how fun it would be, then gets hit by an obstacle, comes back with scraps and bruises and was like “See Fun!” Causing Luigi to cry more.

As much as I would love for this to happen, if Mario Odyssey’s ending is anything to go by, Ninty doesn’t seem to want to develop Mario and Peach’s relationship. If Ninty won’t develop the biggest ship in the series, no way in hell will they give a pairing of “sidekicks” development.

This idea is an automatic 10/10 from me. The Mario series has such an expansive cast, why not ACTUALLY use them instead of leaving them for sports and kart-racing?

I honestly was thinking that the next Luigi’s Mansion should be on a cruise. I mean what’s better than a hotel? A cruise. All aboard the Daisy Cruiser!

I have always had this idea for a Luigi's mansion that involves Daisy AND her kingdom, let me elaborate: Warning of too much text I will divide this in sections. The plot: Luigi goes to Daisy's castle in Sarasaland because it is haunted and E Gadd wants to explore it and forced Luigi, they met King Boo and he has to kidnap only one of them since he only has 1 painting while throwing the other away, he wants Daisy to use her powers but also wants to destroy Luigi, with this setting this LM would had 2 campaigns. Differences between campaigns: The starting area and the abilities, both share the same castle to explore but take different paths to unlock everything in it. The different abilities are the following: Luigi: - Can jump. - Carry multiple objects and throw them. - Can fix tubes. Daisy: - Fast growing of various seeds. (For stairs, ground hazards, covering walls, etc). - See and communicate with the friendly ghosts in the castle. - Run over inclinations. Both can use a new ghost poltergust that can use multiple items such as the ice and fire flowers at any time to change the elemental S U C C, among new elements such as an item that increases the succ range, speed, create mini tornados, etc, these changes can be used for both battles and puzzles. The abilities of each character can affect these changes in the elemental abilities such as using them in the air with Luigi. Combat: The combat is basically the same, flash the ghosts, hold them until the number reaches 0, repeat, the new things will come with the ghosts, some of them will let themselves be captured to let the others have a change of kill you, some of them once are captured will run to a hazard such as fire and spikes so you will have to let them go, some will take you to another room where will have to escape, etc. Also, the Boos can work as some sort of miniboss who can be the leader if a group of ghosts meaning that if you capture it first the others will escape instantly, high risk high reward. Money: I hate money in short games, once you finish buying everything there is no point in collecting it besides the final score, so to change that I will remove it and let the player find the upgrades and fixing points for the castle, that way you won't need to grind for money in order to get the best ending. Gooigi and Slisy: Second players and basically the same as in LM3, just wanted to mention them, used mainly for puzzles. Now, this is something that loved to think about, the final battle against King Boo will be different between both campaigns, with Daisy she will simply defeat KB while he tries to capture her in a new painting, while in Luigi's case he will have to fight Daisy while she is possessed by KB (something like Gwen from Ben 10 being possessed by Ghostfreak), both battles will be completely different, Luigi's will be a persecution through the entire castle trying to find all E. Gadd inventions in order to "exorcise" her, while Daisy's will be about mental games, playing with the lights, making short puzzles, escaping from labyrinths, suddenly changing the controls and the camera, etc. These are just some ideas since I had a longer writing in my PC.

I must make note here: I wish that instead of "Super Mario Sunshine", we got "Super Luigi Sunshine", and the plot was essentially Luigi trying to help get Mario out of prison by helping with his community service (using the FLUDD), while also trying to clear Mario's name and find the real polluter (who of course captured Princess Peach). Daisy would be along for the trip too of course (as it would essentially have been a vacation for the princesses, Mario & Luigi - possibly a treat Luigi offered with some of the money he collected after Luigi's Mansion); she'd be offering assistance in (or otherwise causing/initiating) some of the missions.

Here is about the weirdest direction I could think of this to go. Imagine a spiritual successor to Super Mario RPG, but with Luigi's Mansion assets. Luigi, Daisy, Gooigi, E-Gadd, Polterpup, or even King Boo eventually could all be party members battling their way through the ghosts of the Mushroom Kingdom. They could all have different ghost-hunting gadgets with different abilities. Luigi would obviously have the Poltergust, but Daisy could have a thing that shoots Flowers with runes on them to keep ghosts away. Maybe you could go to different locations? You can have a world set in the original Luigi's Mansion or the Hotel, or maybe even the spooky world from Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door. Or original worlds! Imagine an underwater Bowser base that has been abandoned and filled with Drowned Goombas and Koopas. Or a base in the Rainclouds filled with Lighting Ghosts. Or maybe even an area inspired by ancient Greece and Rome filled with Mushroom-Kingdom esc. Gladiators and Spartans. It would give Luigi's Mansion fans a new game to play, Super Mario RPG fans something new after all these years, and expand the Mushroom Kingdom's world even further beyond the bland worlds we got in the NSMB games.

I don't understand why Daisy never made it outside of the Sports games. Sarasa land should technically be considered cannon in the Mario universe.

Maybe Daisy can get a B plot in the mansion and the two help each other without knowing it.

Pointing out that "Luigi is more like Daisy's Peach" is something that I can't believe I never noticed before. That's honestly really clever, and I'd love to see the LM series showcase this dynamic more like you said.

I just wish we saw more of this relationship period. It's always been fun to think about how these 2 would interact. Luigi's timid caution contrasting with Daisy's boisterous recklessness. It's a very enjoyable pairing. Sometimes I just imagine them in everyday situations and adventures with wacky shinanigans insuing. I just wish we saw it more and didn't have to make most of it up ourselves. Seriously. This is gold.

Where Peach would give Mario a kiss on the nose or a cake after being rescued, Daisy would probably be like "I didn't need your help, but thanks."

So agreed with this. I wouldn't mind if she needed to be saved, but she needs to be shown off more alongside him in some way.

Here's how I imagine it, Daisy is kidnapped by King Boo to try to lure Luigi in. Luigi goes to save her but then as soon as he enters the haunted location he sees Daisy already out causing trouble for the Ghosts, having already escaped Boo and making herself another nuisance of his, she then drags Luigi along as she saw his sinister plan and decides the two of them need to stop him.

Luigi would be too scared Daisy would step forward sometimes it would work and sometimes Luigi would have to help get her out of the situation and sometimes Daisy could give Luigi encouragement (come on sweetie you can do it “gives Luigi tiny kisses” Luigi Yahoo you’re right! then he was shocked that he was able to do the task.

I'm imagining a co-op game where both of them play differently. Luigi plays as the standard in Mansion games, anxious and frantic, while Daisy treats it like a beat'emup, which is no more effective than Luigi's gameplay because they're fighting ghosts.

Clever idea, I’ve never seen anyone suggest such a dynamic! It could happen because LM isn’t made by Nintendo EPD. The EAD team disliked the Mario side characters they didn’t come up for some reason, despite merging with another team to form EPD I bet ex EAD members shoot down inclusion of Daisy etc if enough of them are involved in a project.

Y'know, this is kind of an ongoing problem with Mario games. They keep setting up two characters in sports, party, and kart games... and then doing nothing with those pairings. Luigi and Daisy, Yoshi and Birdo, even more egregiously Wario and Waluigi. All three are pairings that basically don't exist outside of coop multiplayer in side games. And even then, like Yoshi and Birdo, it can be quite tenuous and/or superficial. So this would be a step in the right direction. At least in this cursed timeline where Nintendo refuses to give us Waluigi's Taco Stand as a real game.

First!

That was disappointingly not fleshed out. I hope this doesn’t come off as hating for the sake of it, and I get the idea here, maybe you didn’t have much of an idea and wanted to put something out or whatever, maybe this is a new direction, but it’s a disappointing one. That was not a concept video, or at least it was one in the vaguest possible sense. There was no interesting take, or gameplay ideas, or really anything beyond saying “this character should be in this game.” Something that tons of people have already thought of. Idk, I think I’m mostly just upset because this is something I’ve thought about for a while and saw The Duke of Dorks upload about it and thought “Oh this is the perfect guy to bring this concept to life!” And it turned out to be a non-video. This feels like more of a short blurb segment in a peasants perspective video.

I have disliked this video because at this point, Daisy was an unused test file in the original Luigi's Mansion, so she has nothing to do with the Luigi series.
