Is there really a point to them when seal and shine is just as easy and quick as a detailer?

BSD remains as my sacrificial layer over Fusso Coat. I dilute it during summer months only @60/40 with Megs Last Touch due to its antistatic properties, and use it as a drying aid. Another new and great product in 🇬🇧 is the brilliant Bouncer's Done and Dusted Si Edition. When it comes to looks nothing quite beats it. It works really well with BSD/Fusso combo.

I don't but what I really enjoy about your videos is you show both procedure and proper data. So if I wanted the detailing spray with the most gloss, and the other aspects weren't as important to me, I would know exactly what to get. Or most protection, gloss not being critical.

When I got into detailing when i got my first car, I loved using Meguiars Detailer spray, left a nice glossy feel along with a nice scent when sprayed, after washing and drying the car it just gave a nice shine, these days I been doing Chemical Guys and haven’t tried the Turtle Wax yet although heard they def stepped up their game now hope to get their product soon

Thanks for the review. I have detailers but I don't use them often, mostly for wiping out the door jambs since I can't get those with a hose. I just assumed that they were for getting dust off the body without adding much else. Thanks to this video, and your comparison to TW ICE Seal n Shine, I ordered a bottle of Wipe and Shine for 6 bucks last night. It should arrive in store in a few days.

Thanks Bryan! Good video. I use 2 different Chem Guys, Adams, P&S Bead Maker with varying degrees of success. I'm going to look into Eagle One, and Turtle Wax. Turtle Wax has really upped their game after languishing for so many years along with companies like Armor All. They both seem to be stepping up and it's good to see. I'm really impressed with Meguiar's Spray Wax too! It's almost as easy as a quick detail spray and gloss and feel are both amazing.

Brian, great review as always. For me, I love the TW. I have to say though that I used the CG synthetic detailer for the 1st time yesterday and wow it was easy to use and gave my paint a serious shine and very slick, but as we saw, not 1st in longevity. I park in an underground heated garage and very dusty. What product would be best to repel dust and dirt particles as far as a quick detailer? Thanks!

Thx for all of your time! I'm in love with Turtle Wax Ice Seal and Shine at every other wash, but use CarPro Reload in between as a QD and drying aid. The shine, depth, and durability destroy the competition!
@Bigheadedwon
@Bigheadedwon 4 года назад
IMHO Reload's pretty average compared to other spray sealants that run $30'ish a bottle. Not saying that in a bad way, but there's nothing outstanding about it. At it's price point it's not a QD and shouldn't be compared to QD's. You can get 5 gallons of Adam's Detail Spray for like $75 less than a gallon of Reload, so yeah Reload should kill any QD out there. IMHO Shine Supply Clutch is better and cheaper.

I am a "try ever product addict", and have a LOT of detail sprays. To be quite honest, for me, they all work about the same way. I like the CG Extreme Slick Quick Synthetic because it has anti-static properties and doesn't streak for me in the sun. The Adam's gives me the most gloss because it actually contains carnauba in it. I am actually moving away from buying any more dedicated detail sprays. I have been successfully using Wolfgang Uber Rinseless concentrate in a detail spray dilution on my daily driver (sealed), and Optimum No-Rinse w/Wax in a detail spray dilution on my Z06 weekend toy (waxed). Both products work very well and make GALLONS of solution from each concentrate. Because there are SO many great spray sealants and spray waxes available now, I just use the Wolfgang and the Optimum for light cleaning as my detail sprays, and follow up with dedicated spray sealants and waxes afterwards. Bead Maker on the sealed daily, and Griot's BOS and Adam's spray waxes on the waxed weekend toy. That way, I am sure to be adding gloss and protection.

You should do a test on the impact of the highest gloss detail spray (Adam's) that has poor water behavior over base layers of Fusso Coat and Turtle Wax Seal N Shine to see what it does to their excellent water behavior initially and after a wash with Reset. Will it increase gloss but hinder the beading at all and if it does impact water behavior will a wash with Reset bring it back? While also trying the Turtle Wax Ice detail spray over Fusso and Seal N Shine in another area on the panel since Ice spray detailer has decent gloss but excellent water behavior to see what impact it has on the gloss and water behavior of Fusso and Seal N Shine below it. Everyone does single product water tests, but no one ever layers things to see how that will affect things.
@illestFlavor
@illestFlavor 5 лет назад
I think you should rinse off the panel using a stronger spray instead of using the shower setting to blast off any leftovers cleaners on the paint. I really like the " Full " setting on my garden hose nozzle for rinsing down my car with its pressure it gives.

I use Adam's as my drying aid and general detail spray uses like bird poop and spots. It's expensive but of all the detailers I've used, it's by far the easiest to work with; flashes really fast and refuses to streak, great lubricity, shines well. Protection and beading are sort of irrelevant to me as far detail sprays are concerned, for sure.

Honestly I think most people sort of have a misconception of what quick detailers are for. They're not meant to be any sort of serious protection. They're really more of a quick cleaner, or spot cleaner, for in between washes. Can also be used to provide a bit of gloss boost for a few days at most, or be used as a lubricant for claying or drying. That's about it. If you want actual protection, serious beading, chemical resistance, UV protection, etc. You'll have to move up to some sort of actual sealant, wax, or coating (or a combination of products). Personally I keep a bottle of Quick Detailer in my trunk at all times (along with a few quality microfiber towels) primarily for cleaning and removing bird poop, or any other major contaminate. You don't want to leave that stuff on your paint or trim for any length of time, if you can avoid it. Especially when parking outdoors in the sun. Even pollen after a rain will create an acidic mix that will sit and leave water spots that can start to etch the clearcoat/paint/trim. Having some nice cleaner/lubricant in the form of a quick detailer really helps remove that stuff easily and quickly. It takes about 5-10 minutes to just do a walkaround with a couple of towels and wipe down the car. No need to get too carried away...just a quick wipe is all you need to really help avoid some of the long term damage. Especially with bird poop...that stuff is NASTY on your paint in the sun. For this sort of quick clean, any quality box store detailer is usually good enough: Meguiars, Turtle Wax, Adams, Griots Garage, etc. I like the Griots Garage (Speed Shine or Ceramic Speed Shine), and Adams (Detail Spray or Graphene Detail Spray), but you can pick whatever...I also like either Meguiars or Turtle Wax products for this. Careful with certain ones like Sonax Brilliant Shine. It's actually an excellent detailer for gloss and some protection, however it's too gel like, tacky/grabby, for cleaning tasks.
@roguegeek
@roguegeek 5 лет назад
A quick detailer or detailing spray has always had a specific use and that’s to safely clean up very lightly dirty surfaces. Fingerprints. Dust. Fresh bird poop. Things like that. It’s something to take to a car show and use to quickly clean up an already detailed car or it’s something to spray on right before you hand off a car to a client. Nothing more, IMO. I don’t know when people started looking at this type of product and think it they could be used as a quick wax or spray wax, products with no cleaning abilities. I could care less about their hydrophobic properties, or how durable they are, or any gloss and slickness additives. I just care about how safely and effectively they clean dust and fingerprints. So as much as I love your videos, this whole test seems very strange and out of scope and doesn’t even test what these products were meant for. Anyway, as always, looking forward to your next video.

Eagle One and Turtle Wax, are impressive. And I think thats because they have been paying attention to their user base. Their market is the weekend warrior, and they know that these days, people will simply Google, "Best Quick Detailer," and be linked to videos like this. The Chemical Guys doesn't surprise me, at all. Pretty sad when you hit the Walmart shelf and grab a bottle of Eagle One, over a Chemical Guys brand.

Would you recommend using Adams as a drying aid? I’m looking for a detail spray I can use as a drying aid that won’t add any additional protection so it doesn’t interfere with my coating maintenance.

Eagle 1 *QUICK DETAILER* would blow away Beadmaker *SPRAY SEALANT* for protection..lol! Great slickness from Beadmaker, though.

How do these products perform with a wax that has already been applied? Because you usually wash then wax a car and then you usually use a product like this when the car starts to get dirty and you don’t want to wash it. Just wondering if any of these products will destroy the initial protective wax that you put on!? Thank You!

With the other quick detailers out there, have you done a similar test with the ones not featured here (in particular the turtle wax hybrid Solutions Ceramic Detail Spray)? I have used the Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Detail Spray and I am liking what I see. For my car, though, I haven’t done the torture and chemical tests you have done; all I have done is washed and cared for my car with the other Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions line of products, and driven my car as normal. I am curious, too, as to why testing these products weren’t tested on a vehicle in real world use? Because how many people will actually do to their cars the same things as done in the video?

Maybe it was just me but it seemed like Eagle one got almost twice as many soap sprays than the the turtle ice did on the last 3 rounds and still came out on top

Are All of these safe for black plastic trim? I know Maguire's won't turn plastic white, and even makes black plastic look better!!
