Put these on my Can-Am Spyder F3. After staring at everything for quite a while I began making sense of it. Once I saw the “big picture” it went fast from there. The video is way too dark and not extremely helpful but it gets the job done. Got the bags on in about 1.5 hours and am happy with them so far. The locks are a pain to get to accurate on the bags but I don’t plan on locking them often anyways.
So I just got mine and immediately I'm met with frustration. Yes, step 1, install docking posts, with the large spacers (not mentioned), but check the inside penetration of the bolt (again not mentioned) and grind/cut off excess. The bolts are 1" too long and will hit my rear tire whem the suspension compresses... Once that's done, the sliding bracket does not want to slide freely on the docking posts... I'm going to try lubricating and filing the bracket's edge to see if that helps, as it is quite sharp from the factory. I tried using a lot of pressure but it doesn't work well. I can't get the bracket to lock. This is as far as I've gotten... I don't own a grinder so I can't cut the bolts down... I'll try to finish this later
I'm trying to mount my Quick Disconnect Post on a 2016 Honda Shadow Aero. The Posts I got have an 8mm hole. But the bolt I need to use is 10mm. Almost like they want you to destroy your motorcycle.
While the effort is appreciated: 1. The video is too dark. 2. Judging from viewer comments below, the hardware is not for every application. 3. Good customer service mandates follow-up later to answer questions about the video. Not one comment from Viking here. 3. Next time, spend the money and have someone produce your videos instead of doing it on the cheap.
instead of having the bolt heads on the outside of the bracket why not on the inside of the bag that way it looks cleaner and you have more room inside the bag.
A classic example of sacrificing function (clearly visible, intuitive and understandable) for form (the darkened video effects in an attempt to make it look "cool"). I really detest all of Viking Bags' videos because of this.
Can't believe they are using bolts with hexagon head.... That is ugly to point I don't want it. Easy brackets use a round allen head that counter sinks into the quick disconnect spool. Anyone attempted to mount viking bags with Easy Bracket?
