I have a 2017 Dyna Wide Glide and I been looking at these bags a hot minute now. Thanks for the VOD guys great job. Even if it does discourage me a bit to pull the trigger on the bags. I have to pay for someone else to do custom stuff for me when it’s as much as it looks like you went through. So it’s a bit of a disappointment with Viking I really need something a little more plug & play. 5 stars & thumbs up for the VOD though 100% great editing work and way to make it entertaining to watch as well. 🤘
Yeah having to do the custom work can be a pain and it was a bit intimidating at first, but the bags have held up and still on the bike these days. Besides drilling the holes and installing them, if you can find a solution for your turn signals, or if you go with bags that have a cutout for them. Thats a pain you might be able to avoid
I have a 2015 fxd wide glide and I got the 44l stallion style bags from Vikings bags. Kinda dreading putting em on still gotta order that license plate relocation kit. Any tips you can give me
The seat is a Saddlemen SDC (San diego customs) step-up seat with the backrest. Josh loves this seat, its just enough support in the back without being too high.
They are a sissybar bag from a brand called GOLDFIRE, you can find them on Amazon! They have lots of strap options to go around the sissybar, or attach to your fender, or shock mounts, etc. We've used them for about a year now and they are still holding up pretty well. Pretty solid value for the price!
Killer bike man!!! Where can I find that license plate holder? looks good. When I ordered my Viking Lamellar bags, Fedex ruined the box and I lost the hardware... nothing to be found. Besides a few loose washers in the box. Pain in the ass!
Thanks! The license plate holder was from Viking Bags specific for our bike, we ordered it the same time as the bags. Thats a bummer about not getting hardware, we thought we did too, but it was just hidden somewhere lol. We appreciate you dropping a comment and checking out the video!
@@crooksmoto Yeah, in my case it wasn't Vikings fault, but Fedex. Thanks for the info on the plate, ill chexk out the site see if this could fit on my ride. Safe riding brother!
You guys installed that wrong. You’re supposed to take the strap off the bottom of the fender for the license plate mount so it’s not stuffed under the fender. Also the turn signals the wires are supposed to be cut then put through the bracket as the instructions say. I have the same bike and bags and didn’t have to do any modifications
We are aware we had to cut the wires, but originally we wanted to avoid cutting them if we could. Im not quite sure what "strap" your referring too, but maybe we did miss that part. Either way, the bags are on and pretty solid. Thanks for checking out the video!
i called Viking bags and the chick that answered the phone was so rude. she wouldn't even let me get to my question. so after hanging up i made my own bags. so glad i didnt buy from them. my bags are way better.
Yeah it's worked out for us so far, but on the next bike will consider other options and see who's doing what to improve putting bags on a dyna/softail.

Yeah the drilling of the holes can seem like its hard, but its not difficult as long as you mark them well. The relocation bracket is pretty easy to install, it can just be a little difficult if you have a sissy bar you also have to line up along with the bracket in the holes.
