Hi guys, welcome to another episode of "mix it Up May" ! In today's video, I'm taking inspiration from last weekend's Make & Take event at ‪@doeding5983‬ my favorite craft shop, and diving into a creative project. I'll be transforming an ordinary paper lunch bag into a charming mini junk journal, adding a touch of nostalgia with black and white vintage book pages.
A huge shoutout to all the wonderful ladies who joined me at my craft table this past Saturday - your enthusiasm and creativity are truly inspiring!

I really love the project you did today. My 13 year old granddaughter was sitting with me watching and she really liked it too. She normally doesn’t comment on things I watch so it must be extra special. 😊 I like that you are considering doing a workshop. I wish I lived in the Netherlands so I could attend. one of our cats also brought a mouse into the house once. I jumped on top of the couch! My boys were little then and were running after the cat and the mouse trying to catch it. they thought it was so much fun! They were also completely confused as to why it made me jump on the couch and cry. Oh, dear. memories.

In 14 years my kitty brought me a mouse present 6 times, his brother always tried to take credit for the catch. It is a sign of love from these feline hunters. I always felt honored and horrified at the same time. Love the journal💙🪻🩷

I vote for a world tour. You and Julie from Camelia Crafts. Can you imagine the amount of mischief the two of you would get into. 😂 Love this video. Once I finish sorting postage stamps and sorting thru my Mum's mail, I might have to give it a go. Just have to find my lunch bags first. The joys of reorganising your craft room. I don't know how you could calmly sit there with a mouse on the lose in the conservatory. I would have been standing on the desk. 😂

The mouse in the house episode has happened to me too!!!! 😂 Our brown Burmese Sarah loves to bring them to the door and we sometimes forget to check to see if she has something in her mouth. A few weeks ago she did and she promptly dropped it on the loungeroom floor. Luckily she grabbed it again with her mouth so I tugged on it by it's tail, got it out of her mouth and took it back outside. It was hilarious!! I hope you manage/d to find it, or Daisy found it and 'disposed' of it, in the way cats do. 😊

Fabulous project Margreth xx I hope you find the mouse, my cat bought me a mouse present once and let it go as well. It was eventually caught in a humane trap baited with peanut butter and returned to live its best life in a nearby allotment. 💕

Wow, Margreth, this is amazing. How about travelling to Perth, Australia. I'll put you up for free.... ha ha. I would love to do this with you. My cat brings me mice quite often. My last cat brought me snakes on a very regular basis, dangerous ones at that. I often found them slithering under my dining table. This cat (Truffles) does not go outside, so no more presents for me, They are presents I can live without, considering my then 24 year old son, got a double bite from a 2 metre long Western Brown snake and was in hospital for nearly 2 months. We are very lucky to still have him here with us. Thankyou for this tutorial. Wish I had that gorgeous book so I could do this. Not easy finding old books here in Oz xxxx

I love this project! You were talking about your craft room being in your conservatory and I have been hoping that you would do a craft room tour. You have so many lovely vintage things and ephemera. I would love to see how you store your vintage and antique papers as I have been collecting them as well. Also, I was wondering where you got the plastic envelopes that you use to store your Tim Holtz stamp sets. I really need some of those! I have lost a few stamps that wouldn't stick back on the plastic sheet after using it so many times. 😢 Congratulations on the success of your collaboration with Doe@ding! How exciting! Since I discovered your channel about a year ago, I have binged your videos from your beginning on RU-vid. It's truly amazing and inspiring how you have developed your own recognizable personal style AND how rapidly your following has grown in such a short time! A mouse in the house. Yikes. Years ago, when dropping my son off at his daycare, the owners Siamese Cat ran in the door when I opened it and he had a squealing baby bunny in his mouth. Oh my, the daycare kids were all traumatized and my daycare lady was chasing the cat. I left and went to work. LOL. Love this project. You fit a lot of stuff in that little mini journal.

Oh I wish you could come to the states. I would what I could to see you. And my cats bring live mice, rabbits and birds as well as bugs. They give them to me as gifts and set them lose in the house to teach me to hunt - LOL ..

You’re so good with stamps. Somehow you know the value of stamps as background, that the “look” of the stamp is more important than what the stamp says, that it’s really wonderful how little stamps look in little spots 40:57 oooops I hit Send! I’ll continue with this question: Have you ever done a session on your favorite stamps? I might have missed it and not only that, some of your videos have involved so much stamping that they might as well have been tutorials on stamping alone. It was interesting to hear you say that you had cut out, removed a erutstrip of numbers from its place on a sheet of stamps. I’ve wondered if we are “allowed” to do this because often it would be a lot easier to maneuver everything. When you read this please know that the mess of words above happened when the cursor jumped a line and the mistake is now underneath the editing keyboard, which doesn’t move. C’est la vie! Thanks for a very do-able project and the completely free mouse entertainment.

Another wonderful project! I’m not in the Netherlands, but back in the 90s, I did 4 day artist book retreats, here in the USA. They were a lot of work, but basically just a really long make and take! It would definitely be easier to do a one day workshop and I wish you all the best!

Hi Margaret, work shops are very simulator to your day at Doidings. Sorry if I’ve spelt that wrong. You choose how long the work shop is to be - anything from 2 hours, half a day to a day. Then you decide what sort of project or talk you want to give, and on what subject. Set a price, including the cost of supplies if used and break refreshmentsI. If you do a day, ask everyone to bring some food to share with the crafters, it’s called in the UK “(Bring and Share)” Oh I forgot you need a venue, it can be your home, or a room you rent for the length of your workshop, allowing extra time to set up and clear up after. Hope that helps! X

Dear Margreth, thank you for your wonderful videos! I'm so happy that I found your channel recently. I really like your way to craft and talk. Unfortunately your doeding-craft-afternoon was to far away for me for one day. But if you are really going to offer workshops one day and you'll have one near the German border, I'd love to come around. Can you please tell me (or anyone else of your long-year followers), if you already have a video about the 2nd project you presented in this video (at minute 6:33) and if so, send a link to it? We once thought we had a mouse in our caravan, because of the typical sound we heard. We searched everywhere in the caravan to find, but gave up eventually. Guess, how hard we laughed when we realized that it was just our thermos flask?! 😅😅😅

oh , wat weer een mooie mini junk journal! echt leuk! en heb zakjes genoeg....ja dat boek van leonard de vries blijft een mooie zowel voor junkjournaling als voor kaarten. wat fijn dat je zoveel succes en belangstelling had en dan ook nog zoveel leuke cadeautjes hebt ontvangen! ja dat zou wel gaaf zijn zeg als je workshops zou geven.....daar maken vast veel mensen dankbaar gebruik van....helaas kan ik niet zelf auto rijden...dus niet baas over waar ik wel naar toe wil ed.... iekss! een muis.....in het huis brrr hopen dat daisy hem nog weer vind! anders vreet hij straks nog je mooie papiertjes aan! een heel fijn hemelvaart weekend met veel zon!🤗😘😊

So you have a mouse about the house? I do to 😂 . Unfortunately his I.Q. is higher than mine and I cant catch him. My dog is clueless. Can I please borrow your cat??? I like paperbag projects. Wonderful project. Daisy says mom I’m sorry I let your gift go in the room I’ll find it and bring it back to you.😁. My beautiful babies bring me a gift sometimes too. That’s when you know they really do love you, even if it’s not the traditional gift. I’m so happy you had such a wonderful turnout for Saturday that was so sweet of the lady’s to bring you a gift.
