Hey sorry for the late reply. I hope you have resolved it. . I would firstly try turning on and off / charge it up fully and see if works, if not there might be something wrong with your unit and I woudl contact Logitech.

Why don't Logitech allow users to customise fn + key combinations, like fn+A, fn+B, fn+C, etc? This means like some 30+ custom shortcuts are possible. I don't really get why almost all companies want me to press fn + F12 instead of fn+F. Isn't it obvious which is easier to press?

Hi Derrick! I like using my keyboard without the backlighting. When I shut down my Mac mini at night, then turn it on in the morning, the keyboard defaults to a medium backlight setting. Can I set the keyboard up so that the backlight stays off everytime I turn my computer off, and then back on again? Thanks!

hello - yes you can, just go to the logitech options + app and go to settings. there is a toggle switch to turn on and off the backlighting :) hope this helps!

the F1, F2 F3 keys operate as normal, and only initiate the pairing if your LONG press it :) hope that make sense!

Hey! Thanks for the video. On my macbook I use the F3 and cmd+F3 combination a lot (overview all windows / see desktop). I would also like to use the F1, F2 and F3 on the Mx keys mini to switch from different devices. So if I understand correctly, if I would press function+f3, it will give me the overview of all windows? But f3+function+shift a desktop overview? Or is there a better way?

Thanks for the tutorial! Is there a workaround for CTRL + HOME to move to the top of a page? I have the MX Mini for Business (which I love outside of losing this frequently used feature).

Hi Anne good question! I don’t actually ever use this command but I would suggest maybe programming one of function keys 🙂

I think for that you should use the fn keys with the arrows, in your case fn + right arrow should work as home, so just add ctrl to that and it should work as you expect. Home = fn + right End = fn + left Page up = fn + up Page down = fn + down I hope it helps!

Hi AJ , sorry for the late reply. .there is a function key you can press in tandem with the F1, F2 and F3 for the usual functionality of the key :)

Got a question. Not entirely sure what's up, but I've been messing with it for a bit now. Essentially, got a new PC without any adapter. Never's been a problem. Figured I'd need one for this keyboard though, so I got myseld one. Problem is, I fon't think it's about me not being able to connect my keyboard to the software, but rather I think my PC's having problems with bluetpoth. It doesn't find my keyboard, so I can't connect an undetected device to the logitech software. At least, that's my best guess. Got an idea sas to how to fix this?

Hi Derek great tutorial. Can you advise what the CDM alt keys do either side of the space bar and the option control key on the right hand side of the spacebar?

are you on a Mac or PC? on the Mac the Command Alt, gives you access to common commands like Copy and Paste, as for the Option Control key it gives you access to some special characters. I never use this, but here's some characters it produces by pressing the Opt control with the numbers 1 to 0 - ¡™£¢∞§¶•ªº. I assume you could change what keyboard it accesses, but I haven't looked into this to know for sure, hope this helps!

I love my keyboard and mouse, I actually have two sets, one in the home office and another at work. I just wish they made the easy switch move both devices at once. I can't tell you how many times I've been on a chat on one machine start typing not realizing I just added my search from another device, its really annoying, and flow is not an option as one of my machines is a corporate image that blocks that functionality.

@@DerrickSiu on the keyboard I want to hit the hot key for device 2, when I do this I want my mouse to auto switch to device 2, I don't want to have to pick my mouse up and hit the button. I can't tell you how many times I've switched my mouse started typing only to find I'm typing on the wrong computer.

Hi Graham, Thanks for the props, when you launch the app. you should see your keyboard show up, you just click on it and it opens up the window with all the settings and options.

I don't know if anyone could help. I succeeded in configuring the keyboard for 2 pc s, but mouse, it doesn't work with the same channel. My main computer is channel two and I have to switch on channel one for pc nr 2. I don't get it

hey Toni, can you explain what do you mean by channel and what do you mean by it doesn't work with the same channel? the mouse and the keyboard need to connected separately to the devices.

@@DerrickSiu Hey Derrick, thanks for coming back to me. I have successfully configured the keyboard MS KEYS with Easy Switch for both PC. As for the mouse, MX Master 2S, it has 3 channels possible (under the mouse, you can select). I usually use channel 2 for the main computer. But when I want to configure the mouse for the 2nd computer, it does not see the mouse while pairing it. IT works only if I switch the mouse to channel 1. Which means I have to manually switch channels wether I use the main computer or the secondary computer. I am trying to understand why both computer can't be configured on the same channel.

His sorry for the delayed reply, its the same, you just go into the iPad settings for bluetooth, Long press F1, F2 or F3 and the keyboard will appear in nearly bluetooth device, select it, and you'll be asked to enter in the special code to connect :)

Hi! the ipad software should automatically disappear when you connect the Mx Keys Mini to it. If that is not working, i would maybe try and restart your ipad, or maybe try updating to the latest version of the iOS . hope this helps!

Does anyone have a clue to fix my issue? With Bluetooth everything works fine but I want to use the keyboard also when booting/ restart my laptop. I wanna use the Mx keys mini with the Bolt receiver but it doesn’t work. I’ve tried multiple options: used different bolt receivers I own, reset the keyboard , switched between the 3 connecting buttons,,.. it’s my business laptop and I have no admin access to install the logi options software. Btw with my regular Mx keys (for business) and its logi bolt it works perfectly fine. 🤔

I had a question about the easy switch, does it only work when connected via bluetooth? Or will it even work if the keyboard is connected to one device using bluetooth, to the other using the logi receiver?

Hi Sorry for the late reply, Good Question, The Easy switch as far as I know is for Bluetooth Only. I've never used the receiver. Have you managed to find out a definitive answer? please share if you have.

if you have a mx mouse if you pair keyboard with devices 1, 2, 3 and pair the mouse with 1, 2, 3 will switching they keyboard / mouse to 1 or 2 switches both keyboard and mouse or are they independent switching ? hate to switch the mouse with raising and clicking the bottom button !

hey based on my current experience, yeah you have to individually switch them. hopefully they will provide an option for a linked switch in future software updates.

I'm currently using iMac 2012 which is using iOS 10.15, however, I can't install and open the Logitech option nor option+, the pop up window said I need a ios11 to start this application, I bought mx keys mini with usb type c cable which makes me able to use both Mac and windows however some of the keys are now not functioning for Mac. any clue about this issue? thank you!

Hi. Is there a reason why you want to do that? I think this is highly unlikely as the app would be acting as a bridge to the OS and the keyboard to assign those special functions that you customise with the app. So if you delete the app, you'll lose the customsied functionality.

I see. it seems that there is no option to keep it on all the time. my only suggestion I can think of is to darken your room a bit until you find the right balance that stops it from turning off. Let me know if that works or if you found another solution? thanks!

@@shikamarunara8705 it shouldn't be a problem, the question is why would you want to? Typical lithium batteries should last 300-500 recharge cycles and Logitech says you can go 10 days with a full charge and 5 months with the backlight switched off which means at a minimum you can get 10 days x 300 = 3000 days or about 8 years use if you used it everyday with the backlight on, or best case 500 x 5 months or 2500 months (208 years) without the backlight. I think you're most likely to have upgraded by then ::)

@@DerrickSiu i see. :) i thought my mx keys has a battery problem coz i kept it plugged in and windows 10 shows battery is still 50% and when i unplugged it windows says it's in low battery. but it's okay now it's already 100% and using it in Bluetooth coz a lost the unifying receiver. :) thanks you for the reply sir. :)

How different between Mx Keys Mini and Standard one? Not only size is bigger?

I'm not sure, as I had an older MX Keys, and the newer MX keys mini had some very useful extra function keys like emoticons, I"m not sure if they have updated the MX Keys to also adopt the new function keys. In any case you can probably program that functionality. Other than that the main advantage of the standard one is the numeric key pad, if you do a lot of numbers / accounting. i personally prefer the smaller keyboard.

Hey Jaszy. . just go to your iPhone bluetooth settings, then Hold and press one of the 3 device Keys until it rapidly blinks, then you should see the keyboard show up in your bluetooth connection settings at the bottom, then just select and enter in the code that shows up on your iPhone on your MX keys Mini. . hope that is clear!

hi @meldabella1459, yes you are right I did miss that. but its a similar process, instead of what I show in the video for the computer, you open your phones blutooth settings, Long press F1, F2 or F3 and wait for the keyboard to appear before clicking on it on the phone to connect. hope this helps!
