As someone who’s pretty much learned the game by making videos about it I’m astonished by the elegance of the system. I’m rather wondering how the hell I missed it over the last decade!
I've been playing KOW for about 6 months. The rules and quickness of play drew me to it. I don't have alot of time to play games and it's easy to get a game in on a weekday. I played a 2300pt game last week and it took around 1.5 hours. If you're busy, but like tabletop games, this is a good option. I would love to play Age of Sigmar and have a Maggotkin army, but I just don't want to invest the time to learn the rules well enough to enjoy the game. The games can also go longer than 2hrs, from what I see at the game store.
Terrain is essential obstacles (walls, hedges etc) or area terrain. Area terrain has height asscoiated with it and is either open, difficult, blocking. Open with height 3? Hill. difficult with height 0 = pond, Height 1=rocky, broken ground, etc, large height and difficult = forest. Tables will generaly include 2 each of obstaceles, hills, flat difficult, forests, impassable.
Thanks for the encouragement! We have 3 more in the pipeline: a beginners game; the $10 prototype game, and an explanation of how scenery works from Tom.
